I heard that Jackalopes were actually just rabbits with a disease called the Shope Virus and it made them have growths on their heads that looked like antlers. This virus made their appetite fail and eventually would kill them.

i read up about those before. cool. and there's also an "industrial-pop" band called jakalope.
