a ladybug landed on my face once, but it was one of the evil orange Asian ones that infested Southern Ontario a couple years ago, and it bit me.

Oh geez, she's SO cute!! 
The ladybug on her nose really adds to that effect. The big, almost transparent bug in the background is a nice way to help her be the focal point, while the smaller bugs up top add balance and keep your eye moving through the piece. Her freckles were a nice touch to add a sense of innocence, as well as the little rounded tips on her eyelashes.
She's just so darn adorable!

Actually, I absolutely hate bugs. In theory, they can be cute and colorful, but even if a lady bug was on my arm and it surprised me I'd probably jump up and scream.
