The Ring of the doorbell was answered by a young woman dressed only in worn black tee that fell past her thighs, her short brown hair and matching eyes smiled as she looked at the younger man at the door, a surprised look in the new arrival's face, Ryan. Ryan was a pretty average guy, black hair, brown eyes, normal everyday clothes.

"Why are you a girl?" Ryan commented as he stepped inside.

Nick shrugged, "I go back to work tomorrow, and they still expect me to be a girl."

Ryan gave a wry smile, "I think you like turning into a girl," he said dropping into a office chair opposite a computer desk.

Nick smiled cryptically, "That's for me to know…"

Swiveling in the chair Ryan looked at the monitor, his eyes going wide a moment as he saw a new icon on the desktop, "You got a new game?" he said tiling his head back over his shoulder as Blecker slipped over, resting a arm casually on Ryan's shoulder and she peered down past him at the monitor, Ryan taking the moment to enjoy his court side seats of Blecker's chief assets before adding, "It any good?"

Blecker back off with a shrug, "I like it, but I don't think you will, besides we have better things to do then waste time playing my games."

"Awwww," Ryan pouted jokingly, "But you have the best rig in town Hollywood Holly."

Nick rose a carefully crafted and pencil thin brow, "Hollywood Holly?" a wry grin spreading over her face as she watch Ryan click the icon, "Don't say I didn't warn you...this isn't like any game you have ever played before," she warned with a slight song to her voice.

Ryan blue her off, just as the screen was filled with a endless wall of portraits, he looked back confused at Blecker only to see the screen dim and a window pop up followed shortly by a calm male voice reading the lines as they appeared on the pop up window.

"Welcome New User, would you like help creating a character?"

Ryan looked back to Blecker, "This is your doing isn't it?"

Blecker looked shocked, raising her hands defensively, "What would ever give you that idea?"

"How does the game know I'm a new user?"

"Web-cam in the monitor doesn't recognize your face?" Blecker offered innocently, smiling coyly.

Ryan snorted and looked back to the monitor, "Whatever girl," then looked at the monitor hands over the keyboard as he began to mouth the response as he typed it.

"Yeah sure, help would be nice."

"Excellent," the computer responded, almost before Ryan had finished typing, getting Nick another look from Ryan, she smiled innocently. "Now what race would you like to be? The world is a vast place and almost any species you can think of is available to experience."

"Oh that's easy," Ryan spoke as he typed, "Elf, elves are cool."

A cocky tone entered the computer's voice, "What kind of elf?"

Ryan looked to Blecker confused, shrugging a moment, "I dunno, a regular one?"

"Common Race: Wolf Elf...A great selection. Might I suggest female as the gender, many players find playing the opposite gender a fun diversion from reality."

Ryan tossed Blecker another look, she shrugged and whispered, "I swear I only Beta tested the game I didn't program it!"

Ryan rolled his eyes, forgetting for the moment to type out his response before speaking aloud, "Yeah sure, whatever."

"Female Wood Elf, Very good. All that remains in the class."

Ryan paused a moment looked at the keyboard, "Wait I didn't type..." and looked back to Blecker accusingly.

Blecker rolled her eyes as Ryan looked back at the screen and th waiting prompt, "That's easy, Thief!"

"Thief? Really?" the computer said disappointed, "I am sure you would find the Dancer class far more...entertaining."

Blecker hurried off, whispering into Ryan's ear, "Whatever you do don't pick the Exotic Dancer class, trust me you won't like that one."

Ryan flashed a sly grin before looking back at the monitor, savoring Blecker apprehensions, "Dancer? Sounds interesting...what can it do?"

"The Dancer excels at entertainment, and never at a want for gold. While not suited for direct combat neither is the Thief, but a dancer has far more legal means to acquire wealth then those available to the Thieves Guild." the computer explained.

Ryan pondered a moment as Blecker sweats, then grinned wryly, "Naaaa I like Thief, let's go thief"

"Are you sure?" The computer pressured

"Yes," Ryan said mildly annoyed, "I want to make a female elf thief!"

Blecker chuckled a moment, Ryan tossing her a hard glare before looking back at the monitor, his fingers having long since forgotten to type at the keyboard for some time now.

"Perhaps you would be interested in Dual Classing then? Half Thief, Half Dancer?"

Ryan glared at the monitor a moment before the response caught his attention in full, "Dual Class?"

"In the game any player can mix multiple classes, they gain all the benefits of each class in full, combined all weaknesses and experienced to level is calculated as the normal base times the number of classes. So while you will need twice the experience of a single class to level you will have the combined benefits of both classes."

Ryan stat there thinking a moment, then smiled, "OK fine, Thief/Dancer." he sighed.

The computer flashed a moment, switching over to a generic elf picture before a new pop up appeared, "Excellent, all that remains is to design your avatar, name her, and your journey begins."

"Name's easy: Teliko" Ryan said, then hit a web browser on Nick's second monitor, he skimmed a few sites before trying to drag a picture of a elf girl into the game window, "And I want to look like her!"

The prompt returned, "Configuring as close a match as possible." It said before bringing up a new prompt, "Satisfied? Ready to play?"

Ryan looked at his new persona with approval and smiled, "Yeah, let's play!"

The screen seemed to go haywire and Ryan's hair and ears tingled, looking down he saw his clothes shrink and shift and his chest ballooned out, a whirlwind of activity seemed to envelop him as the world around him seemed to shift and melt, bit of forest and the smell of grass mixing in with the landscape of the urban ulterior he was just in. He tired to look back at Blecker, knowing the sorceress had to be behind this madness but the changing scenery and his shifting body made that a fool's errand...and the world went black.

So Nick ended pregnant?

Don't you think it's rather makings things exclusive by making this part of a previous story when they subjects don't directly relate to each other? (A shape shifter whose powers are an unknown even to him/ A video game that is a reality that runs on the rules of a game).

Also, it might be interesting if every time the game needs NPCs (both friendly and monsterous) it assimilates some PCs who are past due on their bill or are people nobody would miss in the real world.
