It's been way too since I've last drawn Emerald fully coloured, let alone well @_@ Now, at last, he has an up to date GOOD (imo) reference picture!
Just a note, but I personally call him 'Emerald Neko' as he's the gemsona version of my main OC, Neko :3

I don't really have a story for him, but I guess an idea is that he was a warrior for homeworld until running away to Earth when a mission goes south? Just a thought o3o
His personality is that he's a nice dude, very loyal to his friends and enjoys fighting... That's pretty much it
