Dawon - Incineroar ♂
named after the sacred tiger from Hindu mythology
Penumbra - Gengar ♀
Named after a Spanish word for shadow (also part of an eclipse)
Kangal - Growlithe ♂
Named after a breed of fighting dog
Isabela - Raichu ♀
Named after an island in the Galapagos archipelago
Grecia - Toucannon ♂
Named after a specific individual toucan . Originally named Maga, for Magellanic woodpeckers (also means female magician in Spanish) but changed it after seeing #maga Trump stuff
Tribble - Stoutland ♂
I was watching Star Trek when I named him, so sue me
Teucro - Decidueye ♂
Named after the Spanish version name of Teucer , a Trojan archer in Greek mythology
Fernandina - Vaporeon ♀
Named after another island in the Galapagos archipelago
Troi - Mudsdale ♀

Miri - Crobat ♀
Named after the genus name of the Fijian monkey-faced bat
Tomás - Rufflet ♂
My sister named him, I have no idea why his name is Tomás

Naming Pokemon is great! I always end up naming my main team!
I've ended up with a dog-centric team on my run (I count Primarina as a sea-dog. Kinda.)

I only play Go at the moment and randomly started with an "F" theme to make them easily searchable. I also tease my partner a lot about the silly design of a lot of Pokemon (I didn't really grow up with it) so a lot of them have kind of... stupid names. But the ones I'm fondest of are Jolteon "Fizzle," Lapras "FinNessie," Rapidash "Fiermayne" (I told my partner I was going to give it the most sparklepony fire name I could think of), and Parasect "Fimbly." Wish there were some better Flying types in gen 1. I've been really tempted to play Sun and Moon seeing all of the awesome designs in the generation but I don't have a 3DS.
