Description Who remembers this?

At least one of my instructors back in college suggested I finish it, and I recently met with a guy who was one of the original Pixar founders (doesn't work there anymore, and hasn't for a while) and he gave me some solid advice for my demo reel. One of his recommendations was also "finalize that lipsynch", so that's what I'm doing.

Considering the fact that the original was done in Toon Boom Animate pro, and I now use Toon Boom Harmony, I had to take a .mov file of the original, and trace over all the drawings, what a pain ;o; (hence why some limbs/ears are missing now and then)

I took the opportunity to add more structure to Smiling Kitty's body and head, put him more on-model with what I wanted the character to look like originally. Save me some tiding up later. I clearly did not think about clean-up when I animated this thing back in 2013

I also cushioned the holds all over this thing. In the original, I had some held frames, especially when he says "red" and "blue", and the holds always bothered me. At the time, I was A) on a deadline and B) animating with a tablet, so accuracy was not on my side.
But now, I can really get those drawings that heavily favor the frame before or after; I can get that line that is juuuuust a hair away from the last line, and not die doing it! Thank you Cintiq!

I'm also on the look-out for dialogue from live-action films or shows that might be good for animation. I'm looking for a short bit of dialogue between 2 or more characters that once you strip away the visuals of the film/show, the dialogue could fit in any number of scenarios. Ideally, the less famous the scene, the better.
Person who brings me one I chose to animate to will get a cool drawing or a rough animation of their choice.

I am working on lipsynch for my animated short. It's definitely challenging to do it properly.

Sometimes its not a bad idea to re-dub someones voice acting into your own unique dialogue, change only a few words or lines if necessary.

It is challenging, but in a good way. I love lipsynchs.

The problem with re-dubing once you've done work is the timing and inflections may be different. There'd be a lot to fix, for sure.

True, once the animation is already done it is difficult to go back and change it.

Awesome! I love the movement. You’ve cleaned up the animation very nicely.

Oh, and I have two suggestions for dialogue.

First is a scene from Doctor Who in the episode Utopia. Here’s the clip (start from 0:13): www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMmfgn…

Next is a scene from Futurama, starting 1:18 at and ending at 1:34:

I hope these helped! Good luck with finding the perfect dialogue!

That Doctor Who audio is awesome! Will definitely consider that!

As for the Futurama one, I'm specifically staying away from dialogue from animation, because there isn't much of a point to animate to dialogue from an animation, because there's an expectation to how the animation for that dialogue should go

Alright! I'm glad I could help!
Okay, I see what you mean for the Futurama one. I didn't even think about that. Thanks for letting me know.Β

Well have a good day and good luck with your future projects!

I would suggest sam-in-motion's to fit the bill for that. Short, animated dialogue between 2 characters. I fav'd it.

Yeah Sam gets most of their audio from the 11 second club, and there's good audio there too. I'm checking that out, but I like having options.
