Description Made this between yesterday and today to cheer myself up. Going through a rough patch with a pet's health right now.

The fur is weird in places, since this was originally animated on ones at 24fps, then changed to twos. It tracks almost perfectly though, practically no feet sliding.

Woah this is awesome. It's so smooth and the movement is perfect.
If there's anything I love to see done well it's walk cycles. And this one is definitely one of the best I've seen!

Thank you!

Just gotta practice a lot, takes a while to learn. But it's doable, anyone can do it

you to so many run/walk cycles and so quickly! it seems to be such a breeze for you! what program do you use? ive only animated tradationally and done many a page flaps haha

I really enjoy doing them! And I've done so many, they are the easiest thing for me to do at this point XD
I use ToonBoom Harmony.
I wish I had the space, time, paper, and set up to allow traditional animation, but alas I don't. I also don't have the patience for it.

its all i ever learned and because i was never taught with programs, tradational is somewhat the easiest for a nood like me to fix animation mistakes. i make frame mistakes otherwise somehow.
and my traditional is very make shift, when i used to go to SVA i would go to the animation rooms to shoot it properly with the overhead camera and stuff

They should have at least started teaching you programs :C

Yeah, I don't have the space for a good overhead camera, and the nice animation paper is expensive.

i wasnt an animation student. in my freshman and sophmore years i just joined the classes when my schedule allowed. by junior year and thesis, i had no time to sit on animation classes and the animation classes were getting serious because you had to create a 3? minute film? (i dont remember the time at all) and i wasnt able to keep up that work and my own majors requirements and that was when computer animation was taught more in depth so ya

that's a shame. But truly the programs just speed things up and allow for some shortcuts. I've seen people do amazing things with just photoshop/gimp/sai and windows movie maker.

Thank you!

They're just the cutest aren't they. The bangs reel you in and the feet seal it. Then your life mission becomes to hoard yetis.

Am,azing work So smooth. How can you make your animations look so smooth? If I animate even if it has thousands of frames it still looks terrible <.<

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nekonotaishou In reply to WhereSunRises [2016-04-08 17:50:27 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

Ah see, that might be part of the problem. More frames does not necessarily mean better animation. This one here is just 16 drawings. More than lots of frames, what is important is strong poses, good anatomy, and practice. It takes practice to make it feel real, you have to learn how to show weight, change speeds, turn objects in 3 dimensions. But it's doable!
