Small gift for Autlaw cuz I thought it would be kinda cute let our characters meet. It was a silly idea I had after our trade. xD And it was very fun to do! ^^ I also had much less pressure than the last time. xDDI have contradicting feelings about the result, though. :/ I liked the sketch/lineart much more than the colored version for some reason. And Noche looks more girly everytime. What's with those legs??? Uh! >. Plus I like the background, but I still think it looks a bit bland. You know, it looks too amateurish. But it's better than what i expected, so I can't complain. xD
I wanted to make a video of the process, but I don't know how to do that. ;^; So I made this -->

It's a gif. but it shows at least the main phases, I think. xD Of course, there's more work behind it that what it shows, but meh. >.>
As for the story behind the drawing... Well, I had a hard time thinking how these two would react/interact, if they effectively met. They're both quite detached, so in truth they'd probably just ignore each other, but I could't make a drawing based on that! xD I wanted to make something friendly, but at the same time avoid the yaoi, which is already quite difficult for me... xDD So I kinda had this idea: Red (the tall guy) gets hired to look after Noche for a while and protect him and he kinda needs to befriend him, so after spending some time together he takes him to a rooftop terrace in a tall building to see the city landscape. ^^ I thought it was cute. You know, a bit like a date, but not at all! xD
Well, hope you like it! ^^ Now I better go back working on commissions because I've delayed enough already... Plus the next weeks are already full of exams, essays and shit. >.>

I think the city background is what really made me wow / caught my attention first ! I freaking LOVE urban sceneries at nighttime, and all the lights from the windows and the blurred lights close to the streets look awesome really ! And all those color gradients in the windows give a wonderful lively look <3 It looks natural, as windows from buildings don't all have the same color in real life either, it's awesome you gave them various hues ;u; !
Also, that skyyy <3 For some reason, this specific blue hue (both the light and dark one) are what I associate with night scenes / post sunsets for cities C,: It's hard to explain but, the colors of the sky just REALLY fit in with the city scene xD !
And these two, my goodness look at these two cuties <,3 *I'm sure Red is going to smack the back of my head for giving him a nickname like 'cuty'*.
AHEM.
I really like the easy going and cheerful yet humble expression on Noche's face (: ! He really has that type of adorable and genuine looking smile <3
I have just seen the work in progress GIF file and it's like I'm seeing a little story in how their expressions and poses have developed in the sketch stage. It could be my mind playing tricks on me but them sitting next to eachother on the railing, with the sketch of RED standing in front of him and then further away makes it look like he was backing away haha XD It looked cute though in my opinion (,: Also, It is cool you upload these work in progress GIF files, just like with your part of our trade ;u; It's fun to watch !
Also, I really like your lines! They look so clean and aghdsfj I'm a fan of subtle thin lineart like that. So clean ;u;... *touches*
And I love the way you handle folds in fabric as well ! I agree with PlasticBeach in the comment below here, the way the clothes are shaded and all the highlights look pro ;u; As well as the background, have to repeat that xD ! I love the background seriously ! And I just spotted the marble like textures on the ledge below the railing as well, wonderful detail <3
And Red looks so mysterious here, I guess it's because we can't see his expression but his casual stance is giving away his mood though. I can imagine this as a natural pose for him though, considering he's always pretty serious on the outside, towards other people (,: He has to loosen up a bit around people haha. The stoic person he can be sometimes.. xD This is the nonchalant/calm way he'd be though in this situation : D I think you did a great job portraying his stance and his nonchalant side here in these situations (; He'd be asking him probably "what's there to smile about?" Not to react rude to Noche, but he'd probably TRY to understand what there is to be joyful about xD Since... yeah well Red doesn't know how to be carefree for a moment and just enjoy the moment xD I'm sure he'll be able to learn though when he'd be around Noche a lot x3 Red's luckily not that inhuman to never be able to smile haha.
And shaddapp, his legs look sexy ;u; I don't mind the more girly legs on Noche, personally XD it looks good on him in all honesty xD ! I remember that I have drawn his legs pretty eh.. girly as well I think in my part of our trade :, D
I feel like peeking over the railing at the streets below though, gosh I love watching cities be alive like that ;u;.. *hopes to later get an appartment with a good view over the city life like that*

Hehe I'm glad you liked it. ^///^ The idea was a bit silly but I thought it was cute. xD You know, there are some people who don't like the whole "character crossover" thing, but I find it funny.
I thought you would like the city setting. ^^ It was going to be a sunset at first, but I like so much the night lights and blue colors that I changed it at the end. Lately I've been struggling to make more full drawings with backgrounds and such, but I'm not yet satisfied with the results. xD Plus I'm glad you like Noche's smile /// I wanted to make him look like he's comfortable in Red's company. ^w^
Ah, the sketch! Now that you mention it, I can also see the small story. Red's getting away of poor Noche! >.< xDD Nah, what it really happened was that I struggled with his pose. Bot his manlier anatomy and his cold personality gave me problems and I didn't know where to place him. I had yet another sketch where the two of them were standing, but then I changed to sitting, then to Red standing and Noche sitting... I wanted the pose to be believable and not too out of character for any of them, so I wanted to avoid too much proximity between them. And I thought that pose suited him. C:

Haha oh don't worry, I actually really like the idea xD ! Red usually stays away from the crowded streets. He simply does not like crowded places, so rooftops really are the place he prefers to spend his time. This is exactly that type of place that fits his craving for peace and quiet actually : D But he doesn't like to be a 100% on his own all the time either even if he does not want to admit it xD I think you've drawn him pretty much in character ;u; !!
Haha yeah I played the gif a couple of times and suddenly saw the interaction going on xD
I think their body language, poses and the scene really compliment eachother in a way ! Not to forget that I still freaking love the background, just wow
