Nothing aroused his interest and passion, nothing pleased his keen eye, and even he hunted and slept only out of sheer necessity.,One evening he was wandering along, looking up at the dark, star-spangled sky. Suddenly he saw a gentle glow in the dense dusk of the flowering shrubbery. t was an unusual beautiful being. The tiger crept towards it without taking his eyes off it. When he came very close, he saw a small Angel, who was looking at the flowers. He was gently probing their petals with his fingers, then touching them with his lips to get a closer feel of their fragrance. This unearthly creature was so marvelous and beautiful that the Tiger, yielding to the instinct of a wild beast, rushed towards it in the desire to catch it. ,He did not have time to attack, for the Angel, at the last moment, caught sight of him, became frightened and flew away. The tiger roared, piercing the night with every possible shade of emotion that a beast's scream could express. Anger. Threat. Greed. The longing of powerlessness. Loneliness. Love. Though he couldn't utter a word, Angel understood all these feelings without them. He did not fly away, but only sat on the branch of an old fruit tree, trying to see the animal that had so frightened him at first, but touched him with its cry now.Oh, what a beast it was! The huge, mighty, ravishingly beautiful Tiger continued to sit under the tree with his head up. His eyes, like smoldering embers, seemed to burn through the darkness of the night, never for a second letting the little Angel sitting on the branch out of his sight. And Angel could not take his eyes off the dazzling creature, which seemed to absorb all the beauty and grace of wild nature. Neither of them could take their eyes off the other. Hours passed, turning into days, weeks. A month flew by, and they kept looking at each other.,Time went on and on. Angel never went up to the sky again, unable to leave the one he was so attached to. Tiger went hunting only occasionally, and when he was full, he came back immediately. This tree became their common home, where they, as if stuck between heaven and earth, had their silent conversation, only sometimes accompanied by a quiet growl or rustling of wings. It happened that Tiger suddenly began to rush anxiously around the tree. Howling pitifully, he would stand on his hind legs, tasting the unyielding petrified bark with his claws. It was as if it frantically wanted to say something, but couldn't. At such moments Angel saw this despair and shared its confusion and longing with all his soul. Sometimes, when Tiger fell asleep after many sleepless nights, Angel came down from the tree to admire him more closely. And every time he was frozen with admiration and fear at the sight of a huge beautiful predator, the energy emanating from which did not seem to weaken even under the net of heavy slumber. His eyelids were closed, but his sharp eyes, full of sparks and passion, were imprinted on his heart. His fiery-colored fur beckoned to burn his hand. Angel stroked the sleeping Tiger a few times. One day, in one of these moments, Tiger awoke. And seeing the celestial being so close, he couldn't hold back his animal instincts, lunged at him and scratched his thin ankle with his claws. Another time the same thing happened - Angel returned to the branch with a bite on his wrist. His fear of Tiger was long gone, and he was well aware that the latter did not want to eat him or tear him apart. Those impulses were only because he wanted to keep him close. But every time after that Tiger became more and more desperate, thrashing from side to side and growling pitifully. That hoarse moan echoed in Angel's gut with terrible pain.The tiger, so eager to express his adoration, in spite of all his intelligence and will, could not cope with beastly behavior. It was painful and unnatural to see the beast blaming himself for his animal instincts. And little Angel blamed himself for his carelessness and weakness that had so upset his dear being. He whispered affectionate words to him and sang soft songs until Tiger calmed down. An arrow was sticking out of his neck, and he collapsed with a pitiful roar on the grass, still trying to crawl closer to the tree. Angel was frightened and immediately rushed to the animal. He examined the wound. Alas, it was fatal.The tiger stopped moaning and only hoarsely breathing, still with the same burning eyes looked at the adored being, which was now so close, and so quickly removed by the approach of death. And in the heart of the little Angel spread unthinkable agony and he began to choke. Suddenly he remembered how long ago he heard from his elders warning that on Earth there is a rumor that if you eat an angel's wing, you will be cured of any disease. But in case of a fatal wound, one wing would not save you...And then the Angel said to the Tiger: "– You must eat my wings... Eating only one will only delay the moment of doom, so try to eat both..."And he turned his fragile back and wings towards Tiger. Tiger howled, breaking into a wheeze, expressing horror at such an offer, and hid his muzzle under his paw. But Angel cried a deep sob and moaned: "– I feel your pain as if it were my own, and it tears my heart to pieces... I don't want to go on carrying my eternity if my beloved being leaves me and I won't even try to save him..."Hearing this bitter cry, Tiger could no longer resist. After all, I don't even know if I was able to save my precious Tiger..."Through the sobs and the hot tears that burned his thin skin, he suddenly heard a hoarse whisper. Its ingratiating murmur and soothing timbre were very much like a low growl."– Don't cry, my little Angel, rather look at the one you saved..."Angel, listening, cautiously began to look at the man leaning over him.
