This piece in particular looks like a constellation.
It seems to represent mans earliest attempts to understand the dynamics of the universe.

well thanks - it looks very different in natural light actually - much more blue wiith a copper iridescence to it. i'll upload a new picture some time soon... i have a whole series of these i'm doing..

Interesting--I like the colors you used here and the pattern work is interesting, though jumbled. I can't tell if I like it for it's disorder or it's subtle cohesiveness. I feel like there's a pattern or overall shape it makes up, but the more I stare I still can't find it. Overall I feel like this was just goofing around rather than aiming for a specific feeling or story.
I love your subtle bits of light as it's not overly harsh on such a dusky color scheme, but it works well for a sort of antique look. It reminds me of someone setting a golden pocket watch out on purple velvet and the setting sun shining in through the window casting it's light on it. I'll admit it's an odd feeling from what feels like a rather abstract piece.
