Description Once upon a time, there was a little elementary school girl who would refuse to do her homework whenever Ojamajo Doremi was on.

That girl was me.

The evil network of RTL2, however, decided to cancel the series after "Sharp", leaving that little girl traumatized in the believe that that season's heartwrenchingly sad ending was the whole franchise's end.
It is, in fact, not, but she wouldn't find that out until several years later, when she became a frequent user of the internet.

Anyway, for Nostalgias sake, I recently watched the finale of "Sharp" again, just to check if it's still as sad as I remembered it to be... and...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!! *sob*

So yeah. That's where this pic came from.

In case you don't recognize her, it's Harukaze Doremi, the serie's lead. American people not familiar with the original series might know her as "Dorie Goodwyn" from "Magical Doremi". The dress she's wearing is the Royal Patraine, a kind of "battledress" she and the other girls used during the second half of the "Sharp"-season, instead of their regular witch-uniforms.

This picture was inspired by the climax of the season's finale. I won't give away too much, just say that's it's an incredibly emotional scene, which can and WILL cause any being with a heart to wail like a hurt little girl.

The scene is accompanied by a wonderful orchestral piece of music, called "Lifewood wa fushigi no ki" (The mysterious tree, Lifewood")

Only after I did the outlines, I noticed that drawing Doremi in profile-view was a huge mistake, since I SUCK at drawing profile view. -.-; I didn't even have a reference for it, since I couldn't find any scenes of Doremi in profile-view that quickly. Also, her eye is misshaped and missplaced, her hair looks weird (I just wanted to render the undoing of her Odangos, goddamn it! ><) and her neck doesn't connect correctly to her head. -_-;

I guess I still got a lot, LOOOT more to learn. T-T

Heheh, well, when I was young, I always wondered if being Hana's mother actually made her royalty herself in a certain way... after all, Hana's the witch Princess! O.O

And she looks just too cute in her Royal Patraine! ^^

When I saw and heard Doremi/Dorie, I thought of her as a princess.

The product of that huge Ojamajo Doremi rant you sent me Trips down the nostalgia lane are always good!

Can only identify the word "Musume," which I'm guessing means "Daughter"...

You, the nostalgia lane is a nice place to take a walk on!! ^^

Jup, Musume means "daughter". This is a quote from that scene. The whole speech is pretty much this:

"Hana, thank you. Through you I learned what the love and the courage of a mother are like... My sweet daughter... HANA-CHAN!!!"

"Atashi no kawaii musume" means "My sweet daughter."

In german it was translated as "My lovely daughter.", which... well, actually it's the same, so I wonder why I didn't just use that translation in the first place. XD
