I had no idea what to put in the first frame of 'meanwhile in a 20 mile radius'. I knew I wanted to do Smaug, but was so blank for the rest. So I drew the entire thing up till that, and tried to think of something random from the movie. And then I went: 'Eagles. Sure, why not.'
