Strikes me as more dieselpunk than steampunk, but that's no bad thing at all!

I haven't really figured out the difference between the two yet XD The person that bought it had an airship captain like outfit on, and it matched really well. That's all that matters I guess XD

I always see it like this:

If the aesthetic is pseudo-Victorian, it's Steam Punk.
If it's inter-war, then Diesel Punk.

was a bittersweet moment when i sold it, cause i loved the way it turned out. the gauge was one of those round tire gauges you can get. then just a small piece of hose, and a bit of headphone cord made gave it the look. I might remake it for myself.

Ya, I know what you mean about mailing off something you grow attached to while making. I liked the bits you used, they looked appropriate to the gun which I always like. If it's on the gun, it better be doing something!

Just sold my longstrike today, and as much as my wallet was happy, I was so sad to see it go. I understand what you mean about choosing the right things. I've seen a number of times people will just attach whatever to a gun. (ie. piping, tubing going nowhere, etc..) You need to put things on that could have some purpose.

thats great! I'm glad you agree about the parts, I wondered if I was just being too picky

awesome work im making a steampun arsinal with every gun i have in my posetion. can i ask how you put on those added attachments so well

super glue... hot glue... any sort of good solid adhesive usually works. metal things tend to not hold as well if you use the gun cause the jolting vibration of firing it off.

your detail work is spectacular and the fantastic paint job really seals the deal! one helluva cool gun, nicejob! Is that a black paint job with a bronze dry brushing over it or the other way around?

Neo-Creations In reply to Rathkeaux [2011-05-02 01:52:57 +0000 UTC]

i use a flat black spray paint. (just the cheap stuff is fine as long as you clean the gun well.) then rub n' buff. which can be found around local craft stores around here. it's basically a metalic rub on wax.

Awesome . . .. . it would be awesome if you did the longshot CS-6
still EPIC

i have a longstrike that i'm going to do sometime in the next couple months. I would love to be able to by a longshot though. most all of these weapons i'm making i'm going to sell, but i would keep the longshot for myself.

proxy007 In reply to Neo-Creations [2011-01-22 20:02:11 +0000 UTC]

I would keep it too
are you going to steampunk the old longshot or the new one?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Neo-Creations In reply to proxy007 [2011-01-23 02:16:13 +0000 UTC]

either one. I like the beefier looking big guns. vulcan is cool, but it's just way too small. the longshot, longstrike, and barricade are beefier cooler looking guns i think. and i would rather do them.

proxy007 In reply to Neo-Creations [2011-01-23 02:50:03 +0000 UTC]

it would still look awesome either way

nice. wher'd you get that pressure gauge? I need some for my next project...

Neo-Creations In reply to Nocturnal-Absence [2011-01-20 09:18:02 +0000 UTC]

the pressure gauge is a tire gauge. you can pick them up at your local auto parts stores usually. they usually come in a number of different styles.

I'm currently doing a maveric. Pretty Cleche, I know, but after that a wrist mounted Flame thrower.

Neo-Creations In reply to Nocturnal-Absence [2011-01-21 08:43:55 +0000 UTC]

everyone can do a maverik. it may seem cliche, but the truth is, it makes some of the best looking steampunk guns out there.
just make it your own and it'll be awesome

Nocturnal-Absence In reply to Neo-Creations [2011-01-21 20:32:28 +0000 UTC]

I know. It's just taking time to get all of the bits I need for it.

Neo-Creations In reply to Nocturnal-Absence [2011-01-22 09:03:44 +0000 UTC]

yeah. i didn't really plan ahead what i was going to do with my maverik. i was just looking through what junk i had, and thought it would look good. though i will probably do more planning with future guns

Aw, man, I really like this one. It looks like an upgrade of the one I did, actually... the paint-job is the real deal-sealer, it just looks so dark and sexy.

Neo-Creations In reply to KingMakerCustoms [2011-01-19 09:30:53 +0000 UTC]

thanks a ton. glad you like it. I might be using gauges more often on some of the guns, because i can get them for only a few bucks. And it's cool just finding random things that work together to make these turn out.
