Ey up? is this really neo? A departure from your usual style - I really like this... the strangeness to the atmosphere is very haunting. YOu could have made it better by not compressing it as much though - as there are gradient lines in the sky.

Compression is not the only reason behind those gradient lines... they "naturaly" appear with low sky altitude.

evidently - try blurring open areas of atmosphere then. That's porbably a good thing to do, and use levels curves and brightness/contrast yourself rather than the "auto" versions. That's a good way to think too.
