If you're a watcher from my old account you may remember this particular piece > [link]My how things have changed! Yet again on holiday after listening to this particular Eels song I decided to redo my interpration of the song as I never felt that my orginal piece really represented the song the way I wanted it to.
I started this while watching the extra's on the first Batman movie. Somehow the dvd never got turned off so now me and my parents are completely versed in the history of Batman and how that particular film was made. Somehow I do think the art show cased in the 'history of' section have influenced this piece giving the face a more realistic expresion.
I'm not sure how long this has taken, it was done in four sitings ranging from 1-2 perhaps even 3 hours each. Unfortunately whislt away my C2 ran out on me so the picture had to wait till I returned to be completed.
It hasn't scanned too well as it was done on A3 therefor meaning I had to scan it in sections. Hopefully tonigh I will have a 'In progress' picture up showing this picture in it's various stages.

I LOVE the expression, it's so realistic, like you said it was...very emotive and I LOVE the coloring.
The background is beautiful and I'm diggin' that hand! The way the character looks shoved in a box is really neat too.

Your colourin in and backgrounds make me so sick with jealousy to look at.
How on earth do you have the patience to colour around them letters?! I wouldn't have bothered! On my fave.

Hey, thats pretty wicked, the vibrant colours caught my attention straight away, its always awesome when a artist shows their inspiration from the sound of music in their work, very swell.
I noticed you had to scan it, and you got that corrupt line in the center from the double scan, theres an easy way around that, if you scan each bit overlaping the center you can then cut the light errored area out that accours at the edge of the scan where natural light gets in, and mount the two bits together perfectly, Im not sure weather thats a good explanation, but Ive used the method and viewers are non the wiser.
Anyway, awesome peice!

Thank you so much for the advice I really am growing sick and tired of art not looking right due to my scanner so I'll have to try out your technique! I find sometimes however that it scans find and no line is visable where as other it just appears to hate me haha!

Awesome, defo should try it, i cant think of a simpler way of explaining it, but you can beat the lines, just have to play with it really i think.
