Ooh...I love close-up shots like that! I'm only a beginner in photography, so I don't know sugar about improvements. But that's a really nice shot, it has a really nice feel to it.

You've definitely got some photographic skill in ya Not everyone does, and you can see it almost straight away because photography is everything but easy.
That is one pretty candle. I LOVE those candles which have things inside. Never seen one that represented the ocean, though. cool stuff ;D

Pretty shot, interesting spot for the little pic too. Something different is a plus for me in photography. I really like pink and blue contrasting eachother, it looks neat.

I'm not a pro or anything, I do think it could be a little more focused, but that may have also been your camera if you have one that focuses automatically. If not though that's easy to fix. I like it! =]

at first i thought it was a fish bowl but then i noticed the flame, very well done, it gives the viewer the first impression of water but at closer examination it's actually a candle, very good, very very good

I don't do much with photography, but I think this came out really good. it seems to have a kind of dramatic impact to it the way it is. Good job.

This is really pretty! Great idea ^^ And I think your photography is FINE. Just goes to show you don't need a £12298649275674 camera and software to produce something nice ^_^

That's a cute candle.

I think the pinkish light takes away from the shot, however. You can try changing the white balance on your camera to see what different colors it comes out with, or just hold something white (like a piece of thick paper or a shirt or something) in front of whatever gave off that pink light. Also, a smaller f-stop will give you a greater depth of field.

All said though, it's a cute picture. Very "you" with the seashells and what-not.

Ya I played with that actually, I took the pinkish/orangish out but that turned it rather bland so I left it :0 thanks for the input

Maybe blue? That would be pretty You can totally do that with the white balance.

XB ya I tried that too. And yet amazingly even keia admits that there's such thing as too much blue. :D thanks so much

You could try a light green.

Heatheru In reply to PsychoEmporess [2006-08-27 16:56:53 +0000 UTC]

Strangely enough, I think I like the warm colors. It brings the flame and mini ocean scene depicted full center inside the candle...in a way more metaphorical way of explaining my feelings... XB

I have to say one thing, Keia: You've got a hell of an eye for composition.

I'm not much of a photographer (more like a wanna-be, lmao), but I think it looks great. For some strange reason, I like the flame. Uhrr, wait, that's cause I'm a pyro...

But really, it's a nice shot. I love the way the shadow falls and how it isn't all quite there on the page.
