Watercolor 2017, high above New York City, USA.She's asleep now.
Her neighbors think the blue neon is disturbing.
They have filed complaints.
But she doesn't mind. Not at all.
She loves the light, especially during those gloomy nights.
It makes her dreams feel heavenly.
It keeps the nightmares away.
It makes her dreams blue as the morning sky,
that wakes her up.
With the view of Central Park West,
glowing in the sunrise.
This is her dream.
Her neon dream...

Thank you pj! The inspiration to this painting came from a phrase in the song Big In Japan (by Alphaville), when I heard Ane Brun sing her cover of this song on the radio. The second vers begins "Neon on my naked skin..." It created this picture of the woman in the painting in my mind and I just had to try to paint her with the vibrant city lights outside and below her. I can recommend you to listen to Ane Bruns cover of Big In Japan! It's acoustic and absolutely beautiful! Take care and have a great weekend! Β Β Β
