WTF? The GOP is certainly doubling down on assholery, that's for sure. Guess they want to dump all over Israel and Ukraine like they have been over Syria. (Not that the Dems have done any better on Syria, mind you.) Does Israel have a right to defend itself? For sure, but is what Israel doing in Gaza right? No. Does Hamas have the right to imperil so many Palestinians? No, they do not, but what else did they expect? To allow growing connections between outright Nazis and the GOP is foolishly dangerous. These people forget that many Americans fought and died to destroy the Nazi scourge decades ago. Now their descendants are embracing it?

Here is a number of graphs that clearly illustrate the rise and decline of political violence in the US. I can't make it more obvious than that. These graphs show where the ideology behind political violence is acted out. Three quarters of all deaths are directly attributable to the Far Right. Four percent to the Far Left and twenty percent to Islamic extremism. This does not excuse political violence whatever the source or ideology, but it seems that so many people are looking for the left hook, they are just not noticing the right upper cut.

The point of elections is to change the range of ideas that can help the country move forward. In the current situation, we have an old guy with no real political agenda other than to seek revenge, spread hate and wreck a nation on the alter of his ego. On the other side we have an even older guy advancing "socialist" ideals that would tax the rich, create more jobs, balance the budget and try to make the country a better place. It is unbelievable that there is any competition at all, but the older guy just might lose. How fucked up is that?
