Description Arizona is the forth state to bring criminal charges over fraudulent Republican elector plans specifically designed by Cheseboro to reverse the 2020 election results. Georgia has charged Trump and many of his allies, Michigan and Nevada have also charged Republicans who posed as fake electors in those states. This is all on top of the Federal Charges brought by Jack Smith.

My only question is why wasn't this done in 2021?

Seems election deniers are going broke, consistently. Wonder why? That Trump has failed to produce the "incontrovertible evidence" he claims he has isn't a factor in other's bankruptcies then?

The real question asked by Justice Sotomayer was the important one, is a President entirely above the law? No, no-one is above the law. That is the fundamental principle of any legal system that considers itself to be a legal system. If Trump gets his immunity, then Biden could drop a Seal team on him with complete impunity, and IMNSHO, should be able to remove a dangerous threat to the world, not just the US. Biden won't, of course, but Trump would and that is the point. Unfortunately, it seems that SCOTUS is living down to all expectations, so anything could happen. Given Justice Alito's comments about several Presidents engaging in insurrection, then perhaps Trump should be allowed his immunity. The difference of course is that those earlier Presidents won, Trump didn't.

Can a Justice be removed? Yes, for cause. Given the rulings Thomas has made in cases where he should have recused himself, it is possible. This Court is the least knowledgeable, most biased and corrupt SCOTUS ever seen in the US. If States can openly defy rulings when it suits them, it has inflicted great damage on the Union, but for SCOTUS to make such obviously corrupt decisions, tears at the very core of the legal system in America.

And finishing on a positive note, for a change.
