COVER
PAGE TWO

Based on a concept I’ve had for years where in a future Zelda timeline, Ganondorf beats one of the Links, rules as Hyrule’s King for hundreds of years as an actual good King, gets married, has a daughter named Zelda, and attempt to raise her.

Taking a break from Dandy Robot to do this for…however long I want; it’s just a little side project because I’m in a Zelda mood. I got more ideas in my head (pfft, I can think of a million ideas for this dumb little fancomic, but not one plot for a side project based on my original shit?)

I have no idea what kind of wife married Ganondorf, but she must have been one dynamite girl.

Zelda looks like a bean in his hands- a tiny, adorable little bean. Why did Ganondorf name her Zelda? Surely he must have realized it was a sign of the cycle repeating- or did he resignedly accept it out of love and loss of his wife? (One dynamite girl- I see what you did there.) I like how you handled the suddenness of his wife's death- it made us feel it as well.

I notice the servant is holding an umbrella just for baby Zelda. That's adorable!

Yes, he named the baby to honor his late wife more than anything because Ganondorf did abolish the law of naming every Hyrulian royal princess as "Zelda" (which, as ridiculous as it sounds, is canonical to the game series.)

Considering Hyrule somewhat knows of the cycle, the law makes sense. It's basically covering your bets. "This one might be the chosen one- let's give her the name to make sure!"

A bit of both. Hyrule Historia reveals when Hyrule Kingdom was first established, most of the Queens were named Zelda in honor of the mortal reincarnation of the Goddess Hylia (that would be the Zelda in Skyward Sword.)

But the backstory most people know of came in the second Zelda game where it was officiated as a law: According to the backstory of Zelda II, one of the Zeldas' older brother (who's implied to be a dickwad; his only official artwork has him whipping someone) wanted to know the location of the Triforce because a magician told him she knew (he had the other Triforces.) When she refused, the magician placed her under an eternal sleep. Regretful, the Prince ordered all future female descendent heirs to be named Zelda in his sister's honor.

She must've been one dynamite gal; seeing as how Ganondorf had so many to choose from. Or; did he marry outside his tribe? He may be evil; but Im sure most of the tribe agreed he was probably the best looking king they've had. XD
Plots are hard to come up with when it comes to fandom; especially those you want to make without causing friction within it. Some people get so huffy.
Its a cute little comic; but did Ganondorf outlaw the name Link too? XD

I actually can't picture Ganondorf ever marrying or getting sexually involved with anyone sometime around Wind Waker-ish time because I feel the man is too tragically wrapped up in what he lost (Hyrule) that romance let alone lust is far from his mind. I can picture Younger Ganondorf (AKA Ocarina of Time Ganondorf) probably having lots of unattached sex because he carries that arrogance around and is not the older, wiser figure he becomes later.

My thoughts for this Ganondorf is that since it takes place faaaaaar in the future and he's since ruled Hyrule for hundreds of years, his perspective has changed; he's knowing the peace and calmness that he never truly got until those last centuries. In time, he probably did long to find love and I like to think he did love that woman. I portray Ganondorf much as like Wind Waker counterpart: weary and sick of his destined role, so I imagine the woman who caught his heart is a lively firecracker. This obviously will carry on to his daughter Zelda.

He let people name their kids "Link"; it might be suspicious otherwise. So Ganondorf has had to endure like hundreds of boys and girls being named "Link" over the years and each time he hears a kid being called that, he gets a bit panicky. ;D
