I really love these! Since I'm thinking of making a pair for myself, how much fur fabric did you use to make these? Thank you!

I'm not sure to be honest since it was ages ago, but I used two different furs, the brown&white on and a pure white on the lower legs.

Ok thank you! Do you remember where you got the fur?

The brown/white one from ebay, don't remember the shop, the other one was from etsy, don't remember the seller either I'm afraid.

I love how thin the legs are! I want to do a sheep satyr for Halloween this year and possibly for a convention next year but all the tutorials I find create these huge bulky legs that don't fit with the upper body of the individual wearing them. Yours are definitely more feminine legs which is what I was looking for. I also love the fur colorings. Just beautiful!

Thanks! I had the same reaction when I saw a lot of the bulky legs - but I didn't want to go the pony-boots / heeless route since I was sure I wouldn't be able to walk in my costume then.
So I am glad my compromise works - even though it still feels bulky wearing it.
Magpieb=nes did a nice illustration to show how to do minimal padding to keep these kind of legs as slender as possible:
Just remember that there will be fur on top and the longer that is the more bulk it adds.

As a beginner, how hard did you find this project, on a scale of 1-10?

Thank you. I REALLY appreciate your honesty!
Your legs turned out fabulous btw <3
Do ypu take commissions for them?

Nephtis In reply to AutumnBells [2017-01-15 16:54:41 +0000 UTC]
Sorry, I don't do commissins. I have a job so the free time I get I prefer to spebnd working on my own projects.
Besides I was more or less figuering thisout by trial and error, more or less by pinning it to myself while wearing the padding - I am certainly not fit to do commissions on this.

Beautiful legs!
Btw your first link seems to have become malicious. Or a pop up linked to it has. Just thought you would like to know!

Do you possibly do commissions for these?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Nephtis In reply to Akane-Reaper [2014-04-09 08:34:34 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for asking but no. I only did them myself because I couldn't find anyone to commission them from for my budget and I hate sewing, it was a fight all the way.

Thanks, glad you like them. The blood sweat and tears paid off, but not an experience I care toi repeat.
Maybe you can do something like it yourself, I started by going through a lot of tutorial here & on youtube, compared different methods to do digigrade legs and combined the elements I liked best.

Did you have a pattern to go of of? Because these are the best faun legs and hooves I've seen around! I love that shoe/hoof idea too!

Nephtis In reply to CassieBat [2013-09-22 20:50:18 +0000 UTC]
I tried to find one but couldn't, and since I couldn't afford the commission prices I had to do it myself.
So i looked around and a few people who did them explained the process and made tutorials. For example www.komickrazi.com/costumes/tu… .
Based on that I did my own pattern with the kind of padding I liked.
Do the padding first, and remember the fur will add more volume, the you can create a pattern

It is - you can even add a vest if it's really cold - but it's not a good idea to wear it when it rains. if those pants get soaked with water they are heavy and cold
