In my weekly D&D campaign, the plot moved in such a way that I had to develop a snake person race (which my players affectionately termed Sneeple) as I had included a Yuan-Ti that was meant to be a miniboss that got turned into an ally by my incredibly charismatic party (3 rogues, a warlock, and a bard. Plus some other people, but like, damn). SO I made the sneeple a town, and kind of fell in love with it. Think Mediterranean fishing village meets Japanese architecture and cultural sensibilities.

While this was incredibly enjoyable to paint and a great way to spend an evening, I gotta say, not satisfied with it. I was hoping for a lot more realism in the style; this feels incredibly cartoony and I'm not sure how to solve that problem. If anyone has advice on that, PLEASE help.
