I really wanted to draw Lois and Superman having a romantic moment in the sky. Partly inspired by the romantic flying scene from Superman: The Movie (1978), but mainly inspired by the "Walking on Air" scene from the Studio Ghibli film, Howl's Moving Castle (2005) (howl's moving castle flying gif - Bing images ). Strangely enough, I actually experienced The Mandala Effect with this movie when preparing to draw this! I haven't watched Howl's Moving Castle in years, so when I was remembering that scene, I remembered it taking place at night, with the two lead characters (Howl and Sophie) being silhouetted by a full moon (Very similar to the famous bike flying scene from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)). But when I looked up images of that scene to use as reference for this drawing, I was surprised to discover that I remembered it wrong! Turns out, that scene occurs in the daytime, NOT at night! xD

The colors are inspired by the "Whole New World" sequence from Disney's Aladdin (1992) (A Whole New World - Aladdin (1992) 1080p - YouTube ). My favorite Disney love song from my favorite Disney movie! ^^
