In memory of my dad, the biggest fan of Safeco Field and Mariners Baseball I've ever known (1958 - 2022).

The story so far . . .

I really wanted to draw a movie poster, featuring both my cast of human characters and the classic Toho kaiju powering up. This drawing is also the first time I've ever drawn Godzilla firing his atomic breath. This poster took me three weeks to complete.

COMMENTARY NOTES

- I mentioned before that King Ghidorah in TCE has the ability to conjure and manipulate black holes (Godzilla TCE: The Xilien Kings (King Ghidorah) ), so I figured this poster would be a good place to display that.

- In TCE, Anguirus has the power to produce a nuclear pulse from his back (Similar to the Heisei Godzilla), so I really wanted to showcase that here, as well.

- The image of Godzilla and King Ghidorah is loosely inspired by the American VHS cover for Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) (godzilla vs king ghidorah 1991 vhs - Bing images ). I still remember renting that same tape from the public library when I was a kid. The title font from the American VHS/DVD releases of the Heisei movies by TriStar directly inspired the font for "Godzilla" in TCE's logo.

- Yes, I know Safeco Field was officially renamed T-Mobile Park back in 2019, but I still wanted to call it Safeco Field for this poster, if only for nostalgic value. My dad took me to quite a few Mariners games at Safeco Field when I was very young. Even though I'm not big into baseball, Safeco Field does have some sentimental value to me. Perhaps TCE takes place in an alternate timeline where Safeco Field still exists.
