Description
This is a character concept I hope to use one day for an animated series and/or movie.This is Marilyn Shine. She's a nine year old girl who sticks out among the other kids. She lives with a mother and dad. Her hobbies include drawing, watching monster movies, and reading horror stories. Though some people misjudge her for her dark look on life and she has only a few friends, that doesn't stop her from ruining her day. One of her bestest friends is a friendly giant named Meek and together, they go on numerous adventures with their friends, both human and the "not so" human. They explore new worlds, meet new people and things, and deal with the troubles of everyday life. For Mary, everyday is a new adventure.

Haha yeah. After experimenting with her skin color in this piece, I realized her design looked a lot better if her design was purely monochrome, withΒ her skin asΒ pale white likeΒ the striped shirt she wears.

I had these ideas for, when I go to Disney, if we could team up, we could produce a movie/TV series based on your character. You could tell by the comments and many pictures I fave that I REALLY like your character!

It seems like there's A LOT of OC's on DA that have similar characteristics of Marilyn.

Well, I actually created my character back in 2008. Only she didn't start out the same, but I decided to give her that kind of backstory before she was. . . murdered...

Yeah, well, seeing how she likes the strangeness and weirdness but still seems to be happy and her relationships with everyone, this could be a very likeable character! I think everyone in the world would like her!

I could imagine her now, having her own Disney show and people greeting her near the Haunted Mansion at the theme parks!

I've always imagined Marilyn having her own TV show, so as of now, I feel like her best bet would be on Cartoon Network. To me, Disney Channel plays it too safe for kids and Nickelodeon doesn't really doesn't know who its target audience is.
Though I will admit, the idea of making Marilyn into a movie has crossed my mind before. So if we're talking movie studios, I'd probably go with Warner Bros. since they also own the rights to Cartoon Network.
I greatest goal is to pitch Marilyn as an animated series one day so she may go off and entertain audiences around the world.
I'm always happy to know people like you have such strong enthusiasm for my work.

Well, I see nothing too weird or disturbing in it that it wouldn't be put on Disney Channel. I'm pretty sure they could allow the macabre-ness of your character. After all, they DID allow "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and they DID produce "Nightmare Ned" for TV. We could go en route of that "School of Vampires" style and produce a cartoon that way. (Besides, Disney Channel NEEDS more cartoons! The world is tired of teen sitcoms!)
I agree on the Nickelodeon thing, though. I sometimes feel that Nick has those moments where they don't know if kids enjoy something or are frightened by it (Ren and Stimpy)...

Yeah, when I gave her regular skin color, I didn't like it. So I decided to make her skin justa plain white because I thought it went well with her character.
