Long story short: the dunmeri woman who give birth to him had an affair with an altmer, and Moran was his son, not her husband's. When she realize that her affair would be revealed due to the color of her baby’s eyes, she ordered her servant to get rid of the child and tell her husband that their boy was born dead. Her servant preferred to give the child to a poor Khajiit woman, whom he saw playing with her younger kittens, than to throw the baby into the river.

Daro'nna was an Ohmes-raht and raise M'oran just as one of her kittens. Because of this, Moran perfectly fights with his bare hands, can climb on almost any surface, and sometimes moves his ears in response to something. Like a cat, yeah.

But even if Moran seems strong and dangerous as an adult, as a child he was quiet and soft. His older sisters even had to periodically defend him, because (despite the fact that he could) he refused to fight with anyone. All he wanted was to play with his soft toy guar Serjo Sweet Paw - who had the same red-yellow eyes as he has. He was... rather confused because of his eye color. And he did not like it in himself. And in general, he had complex understandings of his body (for some time he seriously thought that he was a Khajiit, just without fur).

But he loved his cat mother and his cat sisters and did everything to protect them.
