Personality:

Rufio is the type of person that you want to be friends with, not because he's overly kind, but because he'll be far less annoying if you're chums. He's bold, a loudmouth, a fast talker and just a little bit underhanded. That's not to say Rufio's really all that bad. Balancing his bad behavior, he's also fiercely loyal, quick witted, fast on his feet and follows at least some semblance of a moral code. When things get rough, you'll be glad to have him at your back.

Likes:

Seafood
Sailing
Money
His bandana
All the "pretty lasses"

Dislikes:

Diplomats
Rich folk
Provolone cheese
Basking sharks
Show offs (other than himself)

Strengths:

Rufio is the eldest child of a large family; eldest of 12 to be precise. As such, he has a tendency to take care of those close to him, whether they like it or not. He's a natural leader and puts others in front of himself in any given situation, as long as he likes them of course. Physically, he's lightning fast on his feet, has fantastic reflexes, Is a wizard with ropes, is quite gifted with knives and the sort, and is by no means shy when it comes to gun play. He's also got a silver tongue, and can smooth talk his way both into and out of most situations before they get physical.

Flaws:

As talented as he is in his dexterous ways, Rufio's also cocky, shows a blatant disregard for the law and has absolutely no problem with showing off. If challenged he'll usually rise to the occasion, be it a good idea or not. He also has a penchant for insulting people directly to their faces. He calls it being honest; everyone else calls it being an ass. His record for getting into unnecessary fights is legendary.

Appearance:

[link] Rufio has tanned skin and orange hair. (pic'll be inked and colored, and app'll be switched to a full image profile once some commissions have been moved out of the way).

Bio:

Rufio is the son of Fin and Lilly MacNamara, and is the eldest of their twelve children. His father, a sailor, swears up and down that his great great grandfather was a boatswain on a renown pirate ship, The Holy Gale. Completely enamored by this apparent legacy, Rufio from a young age adopted a bit of a rough 'n tumble persona, setting out to own the streets with his crowd of friends, brothers and sisters. Of course, growing up in Killybegs Ireland, it wasn't hard to learn to be tough. It takes a special kind of man to be a career fisherman, and the town was chock full of 'em.

Like all men in his family, Rufio developed a love for the sea early on, and whenever he wasn't busy tending to his siblings, he was out on a fishing boat breathing in the ocean air and gaining his sea legs. He could've easily broken in to a life as a fisherman if he weren't so determined to make a living in...less scrupulous ways. Aside from his love for the sea, he also loved sneaking around, getting away with petty crimes, and stealing 'treasure' here and there to hide away in a stash he and his siblings had made. A few misdeeds here and there aren't too badly frowned upon by kids, especially in his atmosphere, but Rufio became fairly well known to the town's police station as he grew.

Rufio's life of fishing, running around with his gang and taking care of his brothers and sisters was all sunshine and gumdrops in his eyes; this is of course until that one night. One evening at home, his mother made note to the fact his two of his sisters still hadn't come home yet. Being out past curfew was nothing new to him and plenty of the other kids, but twins little Jenny and Joannie didn't usually do things like that, especially not on their own. Quickly setting out with a few of the kids, Rufio combed the streets for the two missing girls. Before long one of his brothers came running back to him, wide eyed and out of breath. He said he'd spotted the girls up on a stack of crates at the pier on the edge of town, but admitted he'd heard some weird growling when he approached and had been too scared to get them down himself. After a swift whap to the back of his brother's head, Rufio ran off to the pier. Just as soon as he got there, he heard the growling that his brother had mentioned. Paying it no mind he walked up to the crates and pulled the girls down, carrying the two over to the other kids and handing them off. Almost immediately after he'd passed off the girls Rufio was knocked a couple feet back, tumbling to the ground and yelling as he clasped a hand to his face. The kids shrieked and jumped back, watching as droplets of blood spattered across the cobblestones. His brothers and sisters may not have seen it, but as he pushed himself up off the ground and looked back to see what the hell had hit him, he found the source of the odd growling. Some sort of humanoid creature stood in front of him, several animalistic qualities mixed in to it; the most prevalent being it's sharp claws, one of them dripping with blood. His blood. Taken aback in shock, he expected his brothers and sisters to take off running at the sudden appearance of the thing. To his dismay they just stood there staring at him, even as it stood there cleaning it's claws. For whatever reason they couldn't see the beast! His mind raced, trying to think of some way out of the situation, when suddenly the creature let out an ear splitting roar and turned towards his siblings. With the roar the children jumped and started to run away, but it being so close to them, there was no way they'd escape, especially if they couldn't see it. The strange beast turning on his brothers and sisters was all he needed though, as something in his head snapped and he jumped up, sprinting towards the creature and full on tackling it. The twins, being carried by one of the older boys, watched as Rufio tackled the air, then seemed to float above the ground instead of falling on top of it! In reality he was now laying on top of the demon, wrestling with it as the kids made their get away. Scary it was, it wasn't that big of a creature, just bizarre. None of that mattered though, not right now. The two tumbled across the pier rolling back and forth as each tried to get the upper hand. Be it by determination, family fueled adrenaline or sheer luck, Rufio stomped a foot on the ground and, putting all his weight into it, heaved the creature up and spun it to gain momentum. A few moments and a determined yell later he let go, the monster careening off the pier and into the sea. He sat down on the edge of the dock for a while, catching his breath and waiting to see if the beast would resurface. A few minutes later, after nothing so much as bubbles appearing on the surface, he pulled himself up and trudged back home, satisfied with the beastie's apparent sound trouncing.

Upon arriving home, Rufio was met not only by his brothers, sisters and mother, but his father and...a priest? The holy man set upon him instantly, focusing on the fresh scar above his eye. With a sullen expression, the priest turned to his father and nodded, taking hold of the cross draped around his neck as he uttered a small prayer. Utterly confused, Rufio asked what the hell was going. His father, shaking his head, folded his arms and stared at him, a completely disappointed look on his face. "He smells death on ya m'boy. You've been touched by the devil! An' as much as it pains me to say it, you know we can't have the likes o' devil pokin' around! We'll have tah send ya off to get treated m'boy. Treated by holy hands!" his father said, nodding to himself. Rufio simply stared at him, brow furrowed and eyes reading complete confusion. ".....What."

The next day Rufio was promptly stuck on a boat and shipped off to Japan, where apparently there was a whole school devoted to helping those touched by the devil. He'd always meant to leave home on a boat, but this sure as hell wasn't how he'd planned it.

Accessories/Weapons:

Rufio has a few things always handy. His belt pouches are, as their name suggests, looped around his belt. He stores anything he'd need quick access to him them, such as marbles, smoke pellets, firecrackers, bobbypins and lockpicks. He keeps at least two knives on him at all times. They're small, light, and his preferred weapons. He doesn't always keep it on him, but he has a coil of rope and a grappling hook for it that he keeps around for certain occasions. He didn't bring a gun with him when he came to school, but he always seems to have one when he needs it (yeah, he's probably stealing it from someone then putting it back). His bandana is a family heirloom, said to have belonged to his great great great grandfather. He always wore it before, but now he uses it to cover his scar.

Additional Info:

Despite his habitual bad behavior, Rufio'll often actually show up to class. Of course, that may just be to bother the teachers.
