Description Redid a veeery old piece which I did 9 years ago! I changed up her design a bit and attempted some more ambitious fabric. My second piece created with Krita. I very much enjoyed working on this, I haven't looked through my old gallery in so long.

This is really great!  I can see that you have improved a lot since your previous version.  Really wonderful job!  I really like all of the folds you put into the skirt.  Often times people do those typical "anime" folds where skirts or capes will have one or two consistent folds, but real fabric doesn't work that way, so way to go!  I really like the soft lighting that comes from the lamp, especially seeing it on the cat.  I think the cat is probably my favorite part about the whole piece since you really captured a lot of movement in its body.  I also really like the shape of her bottom knee.  I really struggle with painting knees so I always notice when somebody does a good job.

One thing that I noticed is that the broom is slightly on the long side.  It's not a problem -- maybe flying brooms are extra long!  Part of why this happened is because her skirt is so long that the length and perspective of the broom was sorta forgotten in place of the skirt.  A way to avoid that kind of thing happening is to keep measurements for something like a broom or staff or something similar on a separate layer and then refer back to that measurement frequently during the painting process.

Thank you! You're right, the broom does look a bit long doesn't it? I'll have to keep an eye on stuff like that in the future!

I love the concept of this digital painting; and the fact that it is actually a redraw of something that you drew 9 years ago. You've improved exponentially since then. I love the textured details that you have put in on the fabric especially (they almost seem to resemble something done with coloured pencils, despite it being a digital piece). The cat's arched back above the glow of the lamp is also a really nice touch.

One thing that stood out to me, though, was how long the broom is - looking at the proportions of her body, it seems that the broom might be longer than her height. Also, while the glow from the light is done really well, I would suggest making the shadows even darker just so that it brings out the illuminated places and makes the piece even more striking.

The choice of colour are also better than the piece that you've redrawn, and work very well. (My eyes were first drawn to the glow of the lamp, and then to the green bow on the hat) Overall, I think you have a lovely style and great potential

From comparison, I prefer this: it's more dinamic with the diagonal cut, and the effect of the wind is more evident, expecially now that the cat doesn't float in the air. But I have to admit, the black moon was a nice touch

I do admit I like that one in the first one, I just couldn't work it into this painting without making it look silly. Thanks for the feedback!
