Very interesting! It makes me think that if we could have cybernetic humans, this is what the inside of their 'heart chamber' would look like. :3 <3 I love the fading effect and how they look more and more like lights the further out they go! Awesome job!

Another nice one Max! The overall darkness of the piece really begs you to go in on a full view and see what's going on.

Question - only a 2 minute render - what kinda settings did you use for that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nestalgica In reply to highmountain4 [2007-05-06 02:53:57 +0000 UTC]

Same settings as always: 6000 quality, .4 filter radius, 2 oversample. I think it's the style of flame that makes it go so quickly.

I looove making them darker so you have to full-view the piece. Thanks, Steve!

You're quite welcome mate! Only 2 over sample..humm. I'm normally at 3 - though that alone shouldn't cause render times to explode. Must be the style of flame is the main thing.

The Darkness - it is an interesting approach. From a pure aesthetic standpoint I would think brightening it up would be beneficial but the discovery aspect is really cool.

I like the picture very much, but I think, the frame is to big.
A bit less would be, in my opinion, much better.

Oh wow, Max! This is lovely! I'm not sure how I feel about the colors exactly, but the pattern and composition are quite stunning! : )

The colours were hard to get right, and I don't think I'm satisfied quite yet. I may revisit this later. Thanks, Sara!

Neat! I wish I could see it really big really close up.
I love the Platinus-Meets-Grinagog-and-Does-the-Maxdance vibe.

"Everything is changing
You're looking for the cure
And you feel like you're the loneliest girl in the world
Trouble in your head now
Don't know what to do
Seems like up is down and red is blue

Red is blue
Red is blue

Remember when we started
Days when all was fun
All that we could make when life was young
Now you're getting older
Nothing feels the same
You can't even make sense of your own name

Because red is blue
(Doesn't make much sense)
But red is blue
(Messing with your head now)
Red is blue"

how long does stuff like this take, and with what program do you do this with?

(This is gorgeous! i love the tunnel-y ness)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nestalgica In reply to Phoenix-Pyre [2007-05-04 18:24:06 +0000 UTC]

It depends on the style of the flame, but this was only a 2-minute render. And I use a program called Apophysis.

(Thank you! )

It's just a song title. I name a lot of fractals with song titles. Sometimes they fit, sometimes they don't.
