Description perched
style study 01
This image is a reinterpretation of Hiroshige's print "A Bird Clinging to a Tendril of Wisteria"

I've felt like I'm in a bit of a rut lately. So I've decided to look through my art books and draw any pictures that I particularly like in my own style.

If anyone has any suggestions of images they'd like to see me recreate, send me a note or leave me a comment

I like this one
It has something quite "champetre"

i love birds so much. there are too many artists around here that are overlooked, like i see going on here. beautiful colors to this piece. it's so delicate...i think that's why i like it.

I'm shocked that there are only three comments on this.

I think this is one of your most beautiful works. That subtle background is killer. Beautiful study of an amazing artist.

Dusty took the words from my mouth. You perfectly blend modern and traditional into this incredible style of yours... I tell ya, If I think of any images or ideas, I will surely let you know.

As for now, this is going into the archives.

now thats nice. I LOVE the little glitch things you drop into the work. They are so subtle that it looks like you have slipped with a pencil or something, its only when you look closer that you see its 'pixel design'

What would be great.. perhaps an extension of the style would be to rebuild parts of the drawing itself with line work.. say reconstruct the birds head using fine shapes for example.

As far as im aware your the only person merging traditional drawing with modern style in this way... definately inspiring.
