Description
Another pic from Shax's fic Runes of Awakening. This is the climactic confrontation between Sonic and Cinos, his evil clone. I, um, can't really say too much about it without giving away the entire plot and/or ending, but it appears that Cinos has the upper hand. Hah! Get it? Hand?Edit: Ahh, the fic that this is from is finally being posted! One chapter a week, folks.

Looks like something from Hellboy. Personally, I think if there's going to be a game anti-Sonic, he should be a little more similar to Scourge in appearance, but has his name lettersΒ switched like Cinos.

does Shax Davis have a DA page? id like to keep an eye on his work, Project Metropolis and Runes of awakening where the first fanfics i ever read that where of actual quality. RoA was a little.. odd but PM was pretty damn awesome. doesnt quite fit Sonics design, but there really wasnt much story to go on originally.

Holy hell, I cant figure out for the life of me, how you were able to use only reds PERFECTLY when there are other colors present. (sucks at tone) Most excellent work!

Easy. The thing is basically black and white, except it's black and red. Once I had all the shading done, I went in and added their green eyes and the touches of yellow here and there. It's deceptive, because the three colors trick the eye into seeing other colors that aren't there.

This is too good for words. I mean first off, the 96% red in there, theres a lot of red glow, but you can tell that the characters are blue somehow. And how the light on teh white snake glows in Cinos's eyes, I mean, that's just a major wow. o_o I still have difficulty with eye reflection, heck I have difficulty with backgrounds.
The way they're sorta physically connected and are sorta "going through meitosis" as I call it, is similar to my fanfic/comic, 2 Sides. That really caught my eye. As soon as i noticed it, I was like "HOLY CRUD!!! O_O" (I can send ya teh script if you have time to waste, xDDD)
Again with the red glow, you can almost feel the heat of the picture and the moment. And you're really making me wanna read that fanfic....

Oh fuck that's amazing...
How in the world you pull off these scenes and... these..theses perspectives while still keeping ones eye focues on the characters is beyond my comprehention, far, farrrrr beyond.
You are one of the best Sonic Fanartists on DA for the sheer fact that while your art never strays too far from it's origin, it's entirely original to you at the same time. And while i've never read this fanfic in mention, nor do i even like reading, i suddenly have an inclin to go search for it...
I'm sure you make these writters feel very important when you portray their scnenes, they are stunning.
The other thing that gets me is how quickly you work. You seem to be able to splurt out pictures more often than i take a dump. I can sketch quickly, but the minute it gets to the computer everything slows down to a snails pace and i respect anyone with the ability to work quickly while still making a masterpiece. I also admire the dedication, i wish i had it.

*grins* Wow, thanks! This pic is actually something of a cheat, because it's almost entirely greyscale. Except instead of black and white, it's black and red, and thus coloring it was just getting the values right without worrying about color. I added some yellow there at the end, so it cheats the eye. You think you see colors, but aside from the white and green, this is a monochrome picture. (You ought to try one, they're loads of fun.)
Thanks for the compliments. I'm trying constantly to improve my art, and it's great when somebody recognizes that. I may churn these out fast, but I have to work for five or six hours on each one. I just happen to have big slabs of time in which to work. :-p

When i first looked at this pic i thought "Knuckles?" as the guy in the lower part of the pic with no shoes but its Sonic! Brilliant! The use of red puts across how hot it must be there and cinos looks truly evil. Fav from me.

This is going to be from the final chapter we've all been waiting for for who knows how long, yeah? (*rubs hands together*) Sweet. I can see it's going to be a cliffhanger with a very bizarre twist (I mean.. what's going on here? They're merging? 0_0). Love the intense reds you've used here, and you got to have another play with lava again (*loves how you draw lava)! Love the expressions, as well. Especially Cinos' devilish grin. He looks mad with power right there.
