Description It's soon to be a movie but already a book: Paranorman.

I fixed this image up, it's much cleaner now

Sometimes it does get old... always trying to help ghost with their problems.
Especially when everyone just thinks you're off your rocker

Probably no one understanding/accepting him and ghosts always having something to request of him.

I do though it depends on what it is. Do you have something in mind?

That makes a lot of scans.

well I was wondering if you could draw Norman at the age of five or eight and is at his Uncle house because his Uncle is baby sitting him while his pareants are out of town and his big Sister is at a sleep over so could you draw either Norman Uncle tucking little Norman in bed or him reading to the boy or draw Norman Uncle in his bathrobe sitting on a soft long blue or brown or red couch in the living room of his house and has Little Norman who is in his pajamas sitting on his Unlce Lap and his Uncle giving his little nephew a big bear huge or you could draw Norman Uncle in his bathrobe asleep in his huge big bed and has little Norman who is in his pajamas snuggled in his arms or could draw Normans Uncle introducing him to some Ghost he has maid friends with or or draw Normans Uncle showing him the witch grave and telling him that once a year her ghost try's to rise from the grave and what he needs to do in order to prevent it from happening or Little Norman spying on his Uncle one day reading the book at the witches grave.

so what do you think?

Oh, sorry for not responding ^^ I've been busy.
Well I'm not sure his parents would ever have let him stay with his crazy uncle. They don't sound like they thought to fondly of him... But I guess I could try it some time. Just sort of 'au'.

wait Paranorman was base on a book?

NetsirkBlue In reply to Makosharkman [2017-04-16 02:41:09 +0000 UTC]

Heh. Yeah. You should probably look it up. I honestly prefer the book over the movie, the outcome is less... obvious.

Makosharkman In reply to NetsirkBlue [2017-04-17 18:55:47 +0000 UTC]

so what significant difference did the book have from the movie andΒ did the book have aΒ happy ending?

also do you want to hear what the book I am writing with the boyΒ who Norman reminds me of is about?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NetsirkBlue In reply to Makosharkman [2017-04-18 01:45:59 +0000 UTC]

As far as books vs movies go this one was pretty spot on and followed the story line almost to perfection. The only really difference is what you the reader are lead to believe about the zombies... it's a lot more of a gray area. Oh and it's lacking the first chapter or two from the book which involves his grandma's funeral and talking to a dead frog.

Yeah sure. Let me here it.

Makosharkman In reply to NetsirkBlue [2017-04-20 00:15:58 +0000 UTC]

okay then so the book is a bite gloomy and has its ups and down but it did have all the Characters like Norman best friend Neil and was Norman and his Uncle more close like they should have been in the movie?

The boy name is Kenny Jason and I will send you a note about his story.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NetsirkBlue In reply to Makosharkman [2017-04-21 18:54:03 +0000 UTC]

Yes all the same characters but no him and his uncle weren't close.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Makosharkman In reply to NetsirkBlue [2017-04-21 20:37:02 +0000 UTC]

I see.

well they should have been Norman and his Uncle had possessed the same ability so they should have been close like Normal and his Uncle could have kept there gift a secret between them and heΒ could have help the boy out more then his parents had and they could have had Norman stay with his Uncle a lot like even baby site him when his parents were out what they did with Norman and hisΒ Uncle in the movie was mess up.

anyway what did you think of the boy who Norman inspired that I told you aboutΒ AKA Kenny Jason?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Makosharkman In reply to NetsirkBlue [2013-05-11 02:55:20 +0000 UTC]

well we don't know if they would have or not since his Uncle died and became a Ghost in matter of minuts in the actual movie but I am sure Normans mother would trust him because she understood Norman more and she was the Sister of Normans Uncle and plus Normans Uncle was open and had same Gift Norman had so it would make scene for Norman to spend time with his Uncle and it would make scnes if Norman had a deep Bond with his Uncle anyway that's what should have happen in the actuall movie.

anyway Good Luck.

Awww, poor Norman. It seems kids with a sixth sense just can't catch a break. I mean, look at the freaky stuff Cole from the Sixth Sense had to go through. Once I have seen ParaNorman, I'm thinking of making a Sixth Sense/ParaNorman corssover picture :3

Man, so many scenes I remember from the book and film, that relate to this. Even from my own experience as a kid.

Excellent job on this, dude.

NetsirkBlue In reply to NicktoonsSquad [2012-07-22 00:56:20 +0000 UTC]

Yes this one is in color. It's already got twice as many favorites as the other. Sad how that works.

Thank you so much- that poor kid needs a break every once in awhile. That's a lot of weight to manage for an eleven-year-old, personally I couldn't believe half the stuff the ghost in the story were asking: this is important, I can't move on until you return my library book.

Really? Geeze. It's such a small thing.

NicktoonsSquad In reply to NetsirkBlue [2012-07-22 01:06:07 +0000 UTC]

*Sigh* People outta give pens and pencils a chance. I myself find it amazing how people can draw in pen without much of a flaw.

No problem. I also feel about about Norman. What he faces throughout the book is something a kid his age wouldn't handle.
But it also shows how strong he really is, and how much he's grown by the end.
I thought the ghosts in the beginning were pushy too. Of course, to the ghosts it's the biggest thing to know a live person can communicate with them, but it's like you said.
He's only 11, and he suffers so much already.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NetsirkBlue In reply to NicktoonsSquad [2012-07-22 01:35:30 +0000 UTC]

I find the fact that you can't erase pen to be fun- you have to modify your mistakes.

It's good thing that it worked out for the better in the end of the story... (trying not to give out any big spoilers to people possibly reading this). It was getting sort of nerve wrecking for awhile there-

I think the movie will have even more humor than the book though, maybe to soften it up. The previews looked to have added some dialouge that's not in the book.

Ah, good advice.

I agree (and understand ), and I think I know where you meant about the nerve-wrecking part.

I've been to the preview screening (did I mention this? I don't remember...) and yeah, the movie's a little more light-hearted than the book.

I saw it in your journal ^^

I think the seriousness of the book helps with the overall plot though and that final twist. Really helps to understand where all that craziness was coming from. I hope the feeling is still there.

NicktoonsSquad In reply to NetsirkBlue [2012-07-22 02:34:37 +0000 UTC]

Oh cool. I just didn't think I mentioned it straight to you, but thanks for checkin' it.

The book's final act was explained in beautiful detail, and the film I think still captures that same meaning and impact like what the book carried.
The film's version, let's say it left my mouth gaping open without me noticing. It's still the same like the book, just a little more dramatic, but the physical performance is just WOW.

NetsirkBlue In reply to NicktoonsSquad [2012-07-22 02:46:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah after I read the book I can't help thinking that this is the closest I've ever seen a movie get to the actual story but we won't know for sure until we see it. I mean they even added Bub and he'd not the most important character in that mess so it's nice to know they added the little details to help explain the others' supporting rolls.

NicktoonsSquad In reply to NetsirkBlue [2012-07-22 02:50:22 +0000 UTC]

It is, ParaNorman's more closer to the book even more than Coraline did, as awesome as that movie did.
I'm also glad Laika included minor characters in there. They explained that it's the most ambitious stop-motion film because of how much stuff goes on in ParaNorman, and they were right.
