Description
Symbiosis, Sickness, and Self-HealingMy final painting assignment, it's a diptych with each panel being 2'x3'. I am not a fan of oil paints so this is an accomplishment for me! The assignment was to compose a diptych showing a relationship.
I was pretty sick when I started this and when I finished ( a couple of weeks) and my initial concept had to do with the body's capability to heal itself.
It's in the Foundation students' show at Emily Carr that opens tonight!

Today is the best day ever! First day after my semester ended, slept in all day, got amazing vintage boots and a delicious cookie and I come home to 2000 messages <3

What I see is a painting of societies sick, twisted idea of what the female body should look like and represent. What they believe is acceptable.

This is incredibly expressive it's a whole illustrate speech. Hard to get but beautiful and someway sad. Good work and a well deserved DD.

Oh, it almost makes me love oils. Just don't make me work with them... I know how hard oil painting is, and let me say... beautiful. Macabre. Dark. Delicious.

I think despite its- well, disturbing-ness and almost bordering on grotesque (in a good way!) Its also very peaceful and beautiful. Nice work, both technique wise and making me emotionally confused

Wow, this is a fantastic piece of work. There is a grotesque, macabre quality to it, but at the same time it manages to be a gorgeous portrait of the human body and its awesome power. You should be very proud of this.

This has always been my favorite, it used to be the backround on my old computer, and I constantly changed backrounds. But I kept it for the longest time. I loved seeing it everytime I got on, the colors, the poses. It's just my favorite.
Your paintings inspire mine more than anyone elses. Because you paint the general idea of what I always wanted to put on canvas but wasn't sure how. I feel like the 'things' you paint is like some new style or form of painting. Like a category you could pick from when submitting a deviation.
I was so surprised and happy to see your painting on the DD spot, especially my favorite!!! to be honest..I think you're better than kmye-chan. And she is amazing.
I feel like your inomnia painting really needs a DD though. Because I have narcolepsy-insomnia. And that painting is somehow exactly how I feel. And how I could visually describe it to someone else.
