Wish I could get a larger view of this, there seems to be a fair amount of detail that I'm missing.
The actual work itself is pretty well done, the biggest issues that are jumping out at me are all from finishing.
1.)Your cropping seems unnatural, the left side of the snout feels like it should go on a bit further before fading.
and
2.) I dunno that the big chunky black frame is working here. It actually dominates the piece instead of acting as an accent. Trim it down or use light colour and I think your piece will stand out better.
