these series were taken in what is now an abandoned part of the yildiz palace, located in istanbul, turkey. a forgotten residence that once belonged to the royal palace, its totally unprotected despite being in the heart of the city.

the building was taken over by a group junkies to party and find shelter a year before we discovered it. the building was later on occupied by some unknown cafe owner, who was planning to tear down the building to 'restore' it. it took us quite a while to convince the guy to go in.

elmira is the name of the model, who was a friend i met at college. she's a medical doctor; not a professional model, and at the time i was taking the photos, i wasnt professional either.
