Description
Anyone who's ever seen a turnstone will know that their small, fast and VERY timid.All i can say is that laying in mud for half an hour REALLY pays off. A lot of them ended up around 3 meters away from me!
Taken during the golden hour this morning.

Im so envious mate, I tried to photograph them not too long ago and they just kept flying 500 metres down the beach every time I got too close. I might have to try your technique soon

You need to be around them when their scavaging during the first 1-2 hours of daylight. Get as close as possible without scaring them then lay down and wait. They soon start hobbling past. They can be quite tame once they realise your no threat. Its all down to patience
