Thanks! I love my goggles, but drawing them is really hard. My scanner ate a lot of the shading unfortunately. I may go in and see if I can tweak it a bit.

Some of my favorite video game characters wear goggles! Baird from Gears of War comes to mind 1st (I'm playing GoW2 as him while I type this ).

You are getting so awesome at this so quickly! I especially like her eyes and cheek bones. Can't wait to see some of the awesomeness you'll produce.

Is this you?! If so, you're adorable! And those goggles!

As far as the picture goes, it looks really good. The only thing I can suggest is putting in some darker shadows to make things pop more. But if you're scanner is anything like mine, it probably mucked up the value scale quite a bit. My pictures always get 'flattened'- especially the colors.

I love the line quality in all your drawings. It's very... clean comes to mind. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Gah, I know! It's so frustrating it is trying to get a good scan. The pic is a bit darker, though I was going for speed with this one. My stuff always flattens - that's a good word to describe it - when I scan it.

The speed thing... I'd like to be able to not think every stroke of the pencil into the ground before laying it on the paper. And then erasing it twenty times anyway. I'm naturally a left brain kind of gal, so getting into that flow is kind of a challenge.

Oh, and the pic is of Izzy Parker, semi-capable airship pilot, discreet settler of disputes and freelance inventory acquisition specialist. The baggage under her eyes is much, much darker and poofier than it appears. And damn, goggles are hard to draw!

And I feel ya about the goggles. The goggles (and hands, and torso) of my smexy steampunk gnome are keeping me from posting him on here.

It's really good practice to do things fast and loose. You at least get to feel like you're accomplishing a lot. Really really nice pic, though!

In a nutshell, yep! But those kinds of things don't look good on a calling card.

I have this weird thing about blank paper, sort of a holdover from my journaling/writing phobia of not "messing up" the paper with tripe. I'm almost past it, I think - with sketching, anyway.

I wish you much success with your smexy steampunk gnome, and am definitely looking forward to that one.
