So, Natsume is having a Harvest Moon; The Tale of Two Towns drawing contest .Since I had to ship out my 3DS and thus, can't play the game, I figured I might as well enter.
This is the 2nd time where something I had planned in my head actually turned out on paper. Too bad I can't imagine what night is suppose to look like.*
Another thing that was odd is the lighteness of this piece. Yes, it was on purpose. Yes, it was odd to work with. I'm so use to layering and placing color on thickly that to purposely make the colors so light and soft-hearted was...hard to do.
I'm REALLY hoping the judges at Natsume notices that:
*This scene takes place during the game where Bluebell has a star gazing festival. You and your date attends. After the festival, your date will walk you home.
*The outfit the girl is wearing is the date's favorite outfit.
*Those chickens are terrified. (In the game, you can have cats that will herd your chickens in at night for you. I picture a bloodbath every time.)
*I really didn't want the scene to be dark.

An awesome job, and the colors seem dark enough to invoke the feeling of night intact without needing harsh cool blue/purple tones.
I think I'm enjoying your more "care-free" approach to coloring this and your last piece (I think I failed to comment on that one), which leaves a whimsical feel that's a welcome change from the dark solid layers and serious overtone. This has "Good Time" written all over it!
