Yesterday, a bad thing happened: Thomas the Tank Engine star Michael Angelis has died.Michael was a long-time narrator on the TV series Thomas & Friends. In fact, he was the longest running narrator, holding the position for 21 years. He narrated from the third to sixteenth series for the UK. He also narrated six American episodes on the New Friends for Thomas and Other Adventures DVD, the first six The Railway Stories CDs, other miscellaneous merchandise and promos/commercials.

It’s a shame he and his US Counterpart after Season 16 parted from the show for reasons never explained, I mean the replacement ended up doing both versions, quite the characters in the series have started to sound the same in both US and UK Versions in fact. I’d often wonder why the series would still need a Narrator after starting to use voice actors for each character.

There wasn’t even dedication to George Carlin from what I saw back in the days where I’d watch US Versions of Thomas & Friends online.
