Kade hadn't necessarily wanted to go to Canada, having already spent a couple of snowy months with Lina cooped up at Rose Thorn Stables and New Age Stables, bouncing between Alice and trying to train her big cat in the snow, away from Seattle's rain, but when she heard that first her cousins Fletcher and Faye would be in attendance, and then that RT was sending several cats of their own, including the tiny but mighty Asian shedu Tez, who Lina had formed a hilarious littermate type relationship with, she couldn't just say no. Especially if she still wanted to get to Florida for the KPC along with Fletcher and his friends and their streetbred madness.

The morning dawned bright and clear-skied, but the winds, which were strong enough at the starting gate and forebode of a coming storm, could be seen pulling snow off of the summit of the mountain they were scheduled to climb in the endurance race. It would certainly make for an interesting race (not that a super tall komainu-blooded cat running alongside the foot and a half shorter asian male wasn't also a sight to behold), but she was excited to test Lina's hardiness on the cold slopes. Kade found herself grateful that she could, for the moment, see parts of the trail marked in festive red and green wandering up the mountainside. They could do this.
