Description
A version closer to what Franz Joseph made, it just has an under structure that allows a more comfortable attachment for the warp nacelle pylons. I always hated that, and the deflector dish on the end of a boom.
It's armed with 1 dual phaser bank and 4 phase cannons, therefore not a military grade ship.
The upper pods on the ship are actually metallic helium-3 and deuterium fuel tanks where the tanks are reinforced with polarized hull plating and supercooled and super compressed -- based on reports of metallic hydrogen.
Helium-3 in my retcon is an alternative warp fuel that has limited speed, power and range as it needs to burn the fuel 300 times faster than antimatter to keep up. This means if a Galaxy class starship's 3000m3 antimatter fuel supply were replaced with helium-3 -- same number of mols, then the ship would only have 3 days worth of fuel. If it had a second deuterium tank at 63,000m3 that only stores 62,500m3 of helium-3 and uses all of the primary deuterium tank for warp power, 76 days -- same number of mols.
Figure the Federation at the time can still generate a decent amount of antimatter, but they're often limited to exploration and combat ships. And retcon dilithium crystals can also reduce the fusion ignition temperature from 400 million Kelvin down to less than a quarter million that allows for civilian warp ships.
Moving on, upper personnel transporter, lower cargo transporter on the top and bottom of the saucer. Bridge, the same as the Ursa Minor's. Transporter behind the bridge.
Captain's quarters and ready room are one and the same. Briefing room, officer's quarters, etc. on deck 1.
Decks 2 and 3 dedicated for life support -- water recycling and storage, sanitary sewer recycling, bio-reactors for food production and synthesizers, both CO2 and O2 gas storage. Did I mention food synthesizers for the galley?
Deck 4 forward, crew quarters mainly. Aft, impulse engines, shuttle pod and ship cargo bays.
Deck 5, sickbay, brig, laundry, recreation room, passenger quarters, maintenance, etc. Plus evacuation shuttle bays and main deflector dish. Impulse fuel also a given, just not metallic or needing dilithium crystals.
Decks 6 and 7 include smaller cargo handling and transporter.
Warp core on the aft nacelle of decks 2 and 3 where the fuel pods attach.
The aft nacelle on decks 6 and 7 mostly warp nacelle pylon attachment and dorsal access.
By the way, decks 4 and 5 would be the Constitution class's decks 6 and 7.
I'll get around to making the meshes available later.
