After the Prussians came out their the needle rifle in 1842 the Cherokeans were impressed with the needle rifle technology that rather then adopt caplock rifles that other nations were doing the Cherokeans adopted the needle rifle themselves in the new M1855 Coosa Needle Rifle. This rifle would be used by the Imperial Cherokean military and Cherokean Republican military during the Cherokean Civil War 1861-1865.
