I have been asked to do a naruto fanpic forever now and since i never saw the anime or read the comic i have tried to avoid it. I feel like i cant do characters justice without knowing their back story. but after begging from a certain persistent person, (you know who you are) i decided i would give it a shot. i did over 20 hours of research (reading, discussing, questioning) and so i gave this thing a shot. so first fanpic of the gallery, hope you enjoy.
oh, want to thank nami86 you re gallery definitely helped me out in getting a feel for the type of passion between the two i wanted to portray subtly in my drawing.

Her hair looks awesome, and I think for maybe the type of atmosphere and style your going for (in my eyes), the dirt seem pretty good to me.
And considering that some crap goes down in Naruto that nobody has any idea on how they survive or get up (lol GIANT SHURIKEN IN IRUKA'S BACK!), I think some of the wounds are pretty accurate as far as the show itself goes. The wound on her shoulder doesn't look like a bullet wound to me, it's to "ripped up." A bullet wound would look "cleaner." lol
Lets face it, it's an anime, not real life. So the wounds don't have to be too accurate.
I think it's a really good piece, and jugging from your other pictures, you're only getting better.
But hey I take pictures with a camera, I don't draw them. So it would be very impressive to me anyway.

It's good but not great. I understand that you got your inspiration from nami86 and have spent many hours researching. I can see the time and effort you have put into this drawing and in some ways it shows. But, in others...like the wound on Sakura's shoulder, it looks like a bullet wound. More damage has been done than what a sword, kuni, or shuriken could have been able to do.
Sakura's eyebrows look brown not pink, it doesn't look like they're that way from the dirt, which for some reason is black/gray. I'm not really sure why you made the dirt black/gray but in my opinion it doesn't look good. The dirt is smeared on her leg in a bizzaro way, (as well as on Sasuke's cloths) next to the cut(which looks really good). Both wounds do look like they are infected, nice pink/read effect, but doesn't really explain why fresh blood is dripping from Sakura's mouth. Or the gash on her head. Was there some kind of fast acting poison that the weapon(s) was/were soaked in?
Sasuke's neck is silver, what's up with that? Was it suppose to be the curse mark 'cause the curse mark is black nnd not that big. There's also something red on his face is that suppose to be blood 'cause it really doesn't look like it. It kinda looks like a design in a way. If it's suppose to be the curse mark again it's black.
Now...for Sasuke's pants, yes they are black, but the way you colored them makes it look like a big black spot.

You have potential and I think you should keep drawing. My opinion was not to discourage you it was mearly my opinion. I can see from the comments that people do like this as I do.

I can see where you are going with this but lets take this from a different point of view. the dirt on his neck does seem bit silver but I think the reason behind that is lighting effects. Also if they were fighting and thrashing around with one another then that would explain the dirt on the clothes. Anime's do that as well. The dirt may be all over the clothes in a funky manner but that is what makes it pretty in a way. Also with Sakura's wound it seems solid to me. If she was hit from a shuriken then it would explain the thinness of the wound and why it shouldn't be too big. For the blood on his face I would once again say that its to make it look pretty by making it with a design. Last its a completely different type of art style so it would make sense as to why it would be a lot different then what others do. For now lets just admire that fact Sparkyyy can draw this masterpiece and leave it at that.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of anime and dirt that goes everywhere I was just a little confused on why the dirt was black/gray. I didn't say I didn't like the dirt I just wanted to know why it was black and (at least to me) it looks like its strangely placed.
But this is my opinion but I get where you are coming from.

Yeah, I do see the blood dripping from her back and the blood on her chest. Her shoulder wound just looks to deep to be from a ninja weapon.
I don't really know, to me it just looked bizarro. No I am not Ms. Clean personaly I like dirt especially smeared on someone after a long and tiresome fight (like Sasuke and Sakura) it makes them look good. Even the most experianced fighters get dirt on them (when they fight outside).
I notice a lot of detail actually but looking at it it didn't look really look like anything to me. I now know that it is a hand print. Plus Sakura had a glove on and I've never seen someone wearing a glove leave a hand print. I've worn gloves before on several occations and I've never left a hand print on any surface.
Try to remember that this is my opinion and I'm not like a creater of a popular manga/doujinshi or anything(and I'm not claiming to be). I've just seen tons of drawings and in MY OPINION this one isn't one of the best. I do like it though and in fact have sent the link to a few of my friends (they don't have DA accounts) They've told me possitive comments on it as well as some less possitive.

i appreciate you took time reviewing my art. the way i did the wounds was to make it look like it was a long fight not just a short bout. i thought the character sakura deserved. thats why i didnt make the hole or the scratch on the leg, freshly bleeding. and i know its very hard to see but if you look closely, her back there s blood coming out and theres a stain on her chest. where the line is in her garment its a little darker where his slim blade went it. i dont know why the neck seems silver but i wanted him to have a green palor to his skin. it doesnt seem silver on my screen. i wanted him to have a sickly look. and about the black, its what ive always done. i dont know why. but i love the weight a flat black has on a composition.

Yeah I did see the blood on her back. I really like the way you did the blood it makes it look cool. I noticed that you were giving Sasuke a sickly look. (His neck just looks really silver on my screen, not sure why) I noticed that you were giving Sasuke a sickly look I like the fact that you did that.
Okay I can see now that the "thing" on Sasuke's check is Sakura's hand print but isn't she wearing gloves? I"ve never seen someone wearing gloves leave a hand print a gob maybe but never a hand print.
I'm not really disappointed I just wanted to state a few things that looked a bit strange to be.
