Description So i had trouble of thinking on what to do for this contest but then my cousin from iran gave me a call. She was upset because a teacher had beaten her hands raw with a ruler for wearing make up to school.
The punishment for makeup, heels, drinking, sex and things that we take for granted here are serious offenses in iran. It reminded me of the case many years ago involving a girl who had sex with a man she was not married to and was sentenced to life in jail. Outraged she took her shawl off in court and cursed at the judge calling him ignorant and narrow minded. The judge changed his mind then, sentencing her death by hanging where he put the rope around her neck himself telling her that this would teach her to be insolent.
She was only sixteen.
So this is dedicated to my cousin who was beaten and the girl was hung for the most powerful dream of all.
The dream of Freedom...

this is a beautiful picture - and a horrible story. it frightens me to know that there are still places in our world where people arenΒ΄t free in chosing who they want to be.

I love it. Style and message. Good luck to you for the contest and hopefully more luck to your cousin and people in Iran to achieve a change some day.
