I use CSP and I use the Turnip brush for almost everything

Layer modes change how the layer works. Light modes look at the colors below their layer and changes the color. Hard is if the light is hard, soft is soft

Normal for flats. And it depends on shading. Usually a combination of hard or soft and darker color, with the opacity dropped way down.
