Description
The expression of existence of the Cosmos; the change and progression of all things made tangible by Space and intangible by Void. Without the presence of Space, it would become localized spontaneously in different areas of the cosmic system, creating isolated pockets of change and other pockets of absolute stillness. Without the presence of Void, its properties of relativity and internal consistency would cease to be, causing extreme instances of expression, or lack thereof.

This is my favourite from your astral triptych. What I like about the visuals of this is especially the fact that while the figure takes center stage, its "alternate realities" / "alternate versions" / "alternate states of being" are being present as well in the background as echoes, so to speak. There's a rhythm to the entire painting because of that.

That's a good word for it! In art school we once had this week of lessons where we looked at one huge paper painted one single colour and then brainstorming what it made us think of. What sound, animal, landscape, whatever we could think of. In terms of music, we all thought of high notes and maybe flutes when looking at yellow. But I think the organ can also hit some high notes that you can practically feel resonating in your skull when hearing a live performance. And the sheer majesty of that instrument also fits in well with the idea of time. And, now that I think about it, it also fits in well with your visualization of time. You know how the notes from the organ keep resonating and reverberating through the air while the organ player has already moved on with the piece? The shapes in the background which I called "echoes" of the figure could be seen as similar to that. The notes from the music of the figure are reverberating through the artwork like organ notes trailing through the air when new notes are already being played.

Thanks! With this one, I thought that the layering of translucent copies would give the impression that it's passing through time.
