Description 'consciousness at its origin is fragile, because of the violence of the passions; it comes to light a little later on because of their attenuation.'

georges bataille 'tears of eros', p.164

it seems like a perilous choice must be made here. i think i could do without innocence, or logic, and i wouldn't fight for consciousness, but for awareness i would kill a lion with a spoon if i had to.

really wierd drawing Z.

Interpretation/Review: We hold it in our hands griping it as never wanting to lose it. The representation is very well executed here, how it fits the concept so well that I can related to.

Pros/Cons/Suggestions: Like the style as it containt the details it needs to demostrate, and the concept. Good work.

Heh, looks almost like an illustration out of an old Phrenology text book or something. Interesting.

Wow that drawing is dramatic and funny and edgy and stylised and... and... is it sweating?

I love the philosophical base of it and the either/or suggestion of balance from the 2 hands, then becoming unbalanced by the 2 sides having difference...

Do you mind if I say this looks earthy and even hairy? It seems to bring philosopical theory out of the ivory tower and down to the ground...

'innocence' is a word that I despise, because it's most common connotation is about something I don't believe in... something that is called 'childhood' - but maybe that's because I know that I've never been 'innocent' and none of my friends at school were either...

I think this drawing is fantastic because it's a combination of representation: the hands look like real hands; and it's also highly stylised (how do you do that?!)... I also love the markmaking, the intensity of the dark marks creating so much expression and power in contrast with the lighter parts and the white background...
