Description Well so this is my entry for#Sweet-Photography 's contest [link] ^^

This is my... fourth "creative" shoot, I've been experimenting with photography and I found how much I LOVE IT!! haha

Well, here I wanted to create a soft atmosphere. The chain with the heart symbolizes a tea bag. My idea for this shoot, was: A tea someone prepared for his dear one, but never was drunk.

I speciallly love the message, it's so sweet and sad at the same time, it has even a bit of innocence, but I think this image fits better in the LOVE category

Tools:
• Fujifilm camera 10.2 Megapíxels 3x f=5·7-17.1mm 1:2.9-5.2
• Adobe Photoshop CS5

And for the ones interested haha, the objects shot are a cup and a dish from a small china tea set.
The background is a part of my garden where I finally found RED ivy leaves haha ^^

I hope you all like it and please comment!!!

Aww thank you, right now I'm working in a new one and I have to say I thought about making a complete serie of photos shooting all the tea set ♥-♥, but it was too much hahaha. Instead I just started looking for cute and shiny *-* objects to shoot . hahaha now I just want to go to a cheap shop and start buying all those cute and stupid necklaces of cute hearts or mini bottles or vintage rings ahahahahaha.
Yeah, it's totally alice in wonderland like O.o
Thank you so much for the comment and the fav

Haha you should though! It'd be nice to see Yes I love nice and cute objects, their so fun to shoot and set up Usually I like going to thrift stores or Michaels I try not to buy the too expensive stuff, too much money
No problem! Totally looking forward to new photos

*-* now I just go into my sister and brother's room to find things ahahahahahahaha. Hahahaha in the last shoot I just looked around the entire house to find a cute and ancient key hahaha. I'll upload it in a few days it looked very pretty because of the shine. Shiny objects always win! ahahaha. Thanks haha, I think I'm more persevering with photography. Painting and drawing is more... I don't know sometimes I totally want to paint and draw and other times I just can't draw a thing. With photography it's a world different!

Beautiful!
May I ask how did you get round AND heart-shaped boqueh in the same photo? Photoshop, I presume?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Neywa In reply to MoonchildLuiza [2012-04-12 19:11:29 +0000 UTC]

of coursee!!! The round bokeh is natural and the heart shaped is a photoshop brush. I painted them, then set the layer in overlay and then I added outer glow to that layer and set it in linear dodge.
Then I also added a gradient and set it in color burn.

I usually do the same process to all the bokeh I add, with the heart shaped ones it doesn't look realistic because the shape isn't natural haha, but when I add rounded ones, that combination looks pretty pretty realistic! All the picture is retouched with photoshop, my camera isn't very good and I always have to retouch the light. And I wanted some soft red light to the picture and that light doesn't exist in the reality hahahahahaha ^^

Thank you so much for the comment ^^

MoonchildLuiza In reply to Neywa [2012-04-12 19:29:45 +0000 UTC]

You know you can make "real" hart shaped bokeh too, right? Just cut a heart out of a black sheet of paper and attach it to the front of your lens. There's a tutorial here on dA [link]

Well, your photo doesn't look that retouched at all, so I guess you did a pretty amazing job there! lol
The red light is awesome.
Have you ever used Adobe Photoshop Lightroom? I really recommend it!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOW! that trick is SUPER COOL!!!! what a creative photographer! Nom nom, I just want to try that and my own shapes buuuut.... I think my camera isn't that cool to do this ¬¬ The bokeh is never defined and it only appears like a blur... I can't take "not focused images" as she says in the tutorial. It's just the natural blur of the macro. Man I have to try this if any good camera falls in my hands ♥-♥ haha Thank you so much for telling!

Thank youu!! Well I've been using photoshop for 3 years and half, I started doing signatures for the forums because I started with my sister hahaha, and then started doing photomanipulations, wallpapers, posters, etc. I have them in my blog [link]
So at least I have some experience with photoshop and I can fix my photos hahaha. All this started because I like retouching others' photos and one day said.... and why I'm not using my own photos? haha

Hmm Photoshop lightroom?? I need to know what's that never heard about it. Is it an option or a little program into photoshop?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MoonchildLuiza In reply to Neywa [2012-04-12 20:18:29 +0000 UTC]

What's the model of your camera? I think this trick would work on macro as well... if you get the normal round bokeh, you'll get the customized one, too! ^.^' But you'll have to crop your image, I think...
Lightroom is another program designed for photo retouches. Everything it does can be done with Photoshop, but Lightroom makes it a lot faster and easier. You can fix things like color, lighting and sharpness with one click. I love it.

I loooove photomanipulation, too! I'll take a look at your blog gladly!

Neywa In reply to MoonchildLuiza [2012-04-12 20:38:47 +0000 UTC]

It's a Fujifilm camera I don't know what's the model but its 10.2 Megapíxels 3x f=5·7-17.1mm 1:2.9-5.2
I don't know what all that means hahaha but I know in the camera setting I just can adjust the light, for the high exposure photos like in the beack or the snow, the one for the objects in movement, and others for inside places, etc. I'm going to try it right now hahaha, I think I can do something -.-?

Hmm I'll look for information or videos of that, it sounds cool!

Photomanipulations are amazing, it's a way to create something which is very yours even using others' photos. I love it! I like painting too, so photomanipulating is the realistic way to create a fantastic place haha ^^

MoonchildLuiza In reply to Neywa [2012-04-12 22:23:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah... with he minimum aperture being 5.7 you can't get a very shallow depth of field or a very blurred background to create a nice bokeh. My camera has a minimum f of 2.8 and I think it's already too much! I wanted a wider f range (the smaller the f number, the bigger the aperture of your shutter, and a bigger aperture means more blur).

Well, you're so good with photography and post-production, you DESERVE a better camera! lol

Neywa In reply to MoonchildLuiza [2012-04-14 16:12:51 +0000 UTC]

Hmm I read a lots of articles after reading your comment, I also read some tips to try to create bokeh with a point and shoot camera, I nearly achieved something similar, it was with a chain. I was shooting a key and I decided to put a chain in front of it, it looked super round and shiny but wasn't bokeh at all T.T But I think after all the shoots I've done trying it, it takes better blur with the not focused things that are closer to the camera(using macro), better than the further ones -.-?
Hmm thank you for the explanation I've always wanted to know more things about cameras but.... sigh it takes a lot of patience to start reading all that in wikipedia, and in english T.T! I'm spanish, I can make an effort and see videos and read articles in english but read an entire long as a bible article it's a little bit too much ahahahaha xD

ahaha, tell that to my fathers haha. I don't want them to buy a camera for me becuase I feel like it's a whim of mine. And well, more or less it is, because this is a hobby and I think I have a lot of things to practice with hahaha.

MoonchildLuiza In reply to Neywa [2012-04-14 16:43:45 +0000 UTC]

I read a lot of articles about photography too, and I agree it IS tiring! XD But I have to read a lot of things in English for college (6 full-length novels only this semester + -God-knows-how-many critical texts), so I grew kinda used to it.

And that thing of closer objects seeming more blurred happens with me too! >.<

Well, I think you're doing fine with your current camera. This photo here looks better than any photo I've ever taken with my semi-professional!

Sorry for the hiper late answer, I thought I had already answered O.o Wow... I'm now reading and wathing more videos in english but's still a bit hard hehe.
I really like the effect!! It was more blurred than in the distance. I didn't like the effect at all in the shoot I did but I'm totally going to try it again!

Hmmm, I tried the trick of the shaped bokeh and couldn't achieve any result with my camer T.T Just the brightness of the veeery very far blurr changed, sigh... But I'm totally obsessed with that effect!! I imagine shoots with a batman icon-shaped bokeh ♥-♥ ooommmmmmmmg, there are a lot of incredible things to shoot to create great effects and creative bokeh!!! I have to go to my friend's house and borrow her father's camera.... I just want to try it, it's so cool!!!!!

ouuu yeah! ahahahaha. Lol, or in the shape of clovers... But I love the batman icon, ahahaha, lol a good cosplay photo of batgirl or batman with that bokeh in the background would be the best picture of deviantart ahahahahahahaha xD You have a good camera omg!, please try it and show me how it looks T.T!!!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MoonchildLuiza In reply to Neywa [2012-04-20 22:40:30 +0000 UTC]

I'm too lazy to do it! LOL
And also it's too hard to get good bokeh with my camera too... It's gotta have the right lighting and the background generating the bokeh has to be very far (hard to do this in my background )... And, still, the only bokeh I get is kinda small.
Well, in fact I only tried it one day and I didn't know much about it then... I'm gonna try it again this weekend and see what I can come up with! Now you made me excited! XD

Neywa In reply to MoonchildLuiza [2012-04-26 20:33:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah try it!! I've been reading things about cameras but it's not the same! I don't have a camera to try it T.T And guess what, when you want to try some framing things or just trying to improve the angle of your photos, trying to take a good macro photo without being 5 minutes close to the object to see when it focuses and when it doesn't. IT'S RAINING oh gosssssssssssssssh! haha Well but it's right I repeated the same process to create bokeh with objects closer to the camera with the macro. And it definitelly creates a better bokeh with the objects too close to be focused. Well it's logic, if what makes a good bokeh is the field depth and your camera isn't that good,I think it's physically possible to create bokeh with things too close. Just the same process, the blur but without the field depth. I tried that with chains and shiny things and it works!! We're improving we're improving!!! haha
Ohohoho batman bokeh man... it's gonna become a legend. I'd not be suprised if tomorrow I see a Daily Deviaton with batman icon shaped bokeh. But it'd me suspicious ¬¬ hahaha
