Even though this is to be part of a commissioned piece, I felt compelled to share this snippet with everyone!I'm VERY pleased with how this came out!
On the left is my more typical styling inspired by the likes of Osamu Tezuka and Leiji Matsumoto... your stereotypical tiny toy girl with long Barbie doll legs, while on the right all dolled up with some fancy shiny latex is my more realistically proportioned Yuki Nezumi.
Normally changing body proportioning isn't that big of a deal but for someone like myself with a deep ingrained sense of styling to prefer long slender legs, it wasn't that easy to just switch over, however I managed, and this shall be the pattern I shall adopt for said commission... which by the way is outstanding and late, and regrettably forgotten about...
To make up for things, I'm kinda busting my brain cells in this manner but I'll manage.
Oh and not only were Yuki's body proportions a main focal point of this image release, but the shine styling as well. You see, I took some notes on how does his wonderfully shiny Latex and Vinyl body suits for his Femme-fatale Senya and applied them to Yuki with surprising results!Β The key point is judicious use of color dodge, and where not possible, light washing with whites as in the case of shorter moi on the right to simulate very glossy and shiny latex rubber or vinyl plastics, plastics of which makes up Yuki's space adventuring suit seen here.
Anyhow hopefully this isn't too much a teaser but even if it were, I do hope you all like this and consider it content preview.

Prefer the right hand model, thank you. Β She seems more in proportion between legs, body, and head. Β Also, the shininess from her wearing Shinium (talk to Alexi about that) makes her a bit more believable. Β BTW, is Yuki a mouse or rat. Β Still love her either way! Β Wanna tie a ribbon to her tail!

Yuki is a rat, specifically a Norway rat escaped from NIMH, who later in life is transformed into a dark witch through cosmic means to this day she still does not fully understand the hows and whys she became what she is.
I still have a fondness for slender Leiji Matsumoto and Osamu Tezuka girls, so the figure on the left will still be favored by myself, but that said, I'm finding a new appreciation for more realistic proportioning as on the right.

You know, youΒ bring up a very good point which I don't think I've covered yet...
I really do need to openly state at least a general overview of how and why Yuki became what she has in an image.
Suffice to say, she fell into a black hole, and somehow or other became one with it. Same can be said about her husband. He too fell into an adjacent black hole while traveling with Yuki, and he became a male witch or warlock equivalent just like her.

But where did this Black Hole come from?Β That's the crux of the storyline!

Those are the details I need to put down in an image, of which there are still elements I need to sort out with more research. How big where said singularities, were they a small coalescing group or part of a much larger structure. Were they possibly been externally manipulated as in the case of the Kessel Maw, used to perhaps function as a hub for worm-hole expressways, or perhaps even as in the case of the Kessel Maw, gravitationally influence an arbitrary defined area of space in which to lock something away?
I have still to sort this out, but rest assured, once I do, you shall have your answers.Β ^^

The shiny I could very easily apply to lanky Yuki too, but I think for this particular comic in mind, the shorter Yuki would be the better choice.
Next will come some concept work on the environment. If my notes recalls correctly, you liked this to have something of a jungle feel to it? And if that's the case, then my recent dabbling with trees and vines could point me in the right direction on where to take things.
