This is what happens when life rudely keeps you away from your hobby and side job for FAR TOO FFFFFFFFF'en long... You forget about stuff...

This I found while looking up, and I quote, "Big Blimps" in my external drive... Now honestly these weren't the "big blimps" I was looking for but... it was sure a nice surprise to find regardless.  Now that I have a bit more free time to work on things, commissions and side projects, I intend to finish ZPG-2 as best I can. Now granted I have absolutely NO idea what the interior of the gondola cabin is like, as there are far and few between reference images of these old and forgotten 1950's radar patrol blimps, so I'm afraid she will only be externally accurate... even though I would love to make her complete with interior...

The existing model of Zeppelin NT07 and Concept Goodyear GZ22 ships along with tiny American Blimp Corp. A-60Plus are there for size comparison with camera set to planar for no distortion.

Nose to tail like this, you can notice a small gap between GZ22 and A-60Plus, as the Goody is roughly 205 feet or 62.6 meters long, while the A-60Plus is about 128 feet, or just a skoshi under 40 meters.

SPG-2??  She's 104 meters and a few centis thrown in.

So this then is the current state of my 50's Navy Blimp, forgotten about, but found again.

First up for her progression will be her bridge windows, balloonette ballast valves, and various rigging around her tail planes.

Had to slip in a boob joke. These are quite lovely blimps, my dear! The one on the bottom looks especially spacious in the gondola!

Thanks my dear, I could simply not resist doing that, because well.. it's truth... I was searching for said other type of "blimps"

As for the ship at the bottom, I suppose so. It's just a shame I can't find much research and reference materials to go by... I would love to know the inside of the Gondola car, who sat where, and did what, and as you stated, how much space might there have been. I can only guess, but considering it's easily four to five times in size *external visual estimation* the insides must be spacious indeed. ^^

On a closing note:  I need to draw more of said "Other Blimps" more too now that I have the time for it.

Darn literal search function.

To me the interiors are the most fascinating part, so shame there wasn't a guide to it... oh well, we can imagine what we like then!

Noice! Ever plan on coming with your own designs?

I have actually. ^^

This is Hugo, named in honor of German Zeppelin proponent Hugo Eckener.  It has three blended hulls similarly to AirLander... just not as massive and more easily made into real... if the idea were ever taken seriously enough.
